I think somehow or another, people tend to stereotyped others in terms of race, religion and social standing. Again, we sometimes don't do it purposely but we cannot escape from it. Just for example, when a certain group of people were to do something terribly bad, other people from that community will be looked at in different 'light' and sometimes labelled as such and such.... I think we get pulled into such situations very often especially if the media is one-sided. Have you come across such situations? Agree to disagree?

Of course we stereotype people, and usually it is not something we are conscious of until something brings it to our attention.
Last year we had a sports trivia session at work and I knew a lot about cricket. One of the people in my office was astounded and said they wouldn't assume things about people again.
We assume things without even knowing the person, for example if I give you 2 names cyril and joe, who is more likely to be in a motorbike club? I suspect most people will come up with the same answer based on nothing more than their names.
