My teen son did a 22 day Outward Bound Wilderness course in mountaining, canyoneering and whitewater rafting. He wasn't sure he wanted to go away during the summer for that long of a time period because he thought that should have been his time with his friends. What he learned, in particular, about himself on that trip has been unmatched in my lifetime and he and 17 other teens returned each with their own story to tell of the same widerness experience. Max was the "Rock" who got them up a 14,000 foot summit of their third peak!

I think that is a great experience for teenagers. It will teach them so much about themselves and it can change their lives forever. I knew some people who sent their children to some Outward Bound trips and they loved it. How can you get more information about this? I'd like to share this with others.
