Why do we prefer one & only place to settle in life?

You are absolutely right, changing places might help person to start afresh. New people, new friends and new place, help a person to grow better. I can say so because even I have migrated from my birth place. But still the comfort of a place one has been living since years, the comfort of a place one has known so well, peole so trusted and everything is so familiar is tough to forget. Once I left my native place, I am settled well in the new place, I even like the new place, but still, i am deep-rooted to my native place and cannot help comparing the two places and missing my home town even more.

Wow! I love your topic.This is completely true. I have moved several times out of my hometown!Yes, I ended up going back. It wasn't the right decision. But this time I did, and simply because I did something totally different. I got married, finished my degree, and had two beautiful kids!

I think one always has emotional attachement to the place where he is born. The smell of the soil of that place where one has spent his innocent childhood, roamed about carelessly, enjoying the nature and parents love, without any burden of resposibity, the familiar faces around , the friend circle which gives a feeling of affection (APNAPAN) makes a person always attarcted to that place where he is not a stanger but part of everything that is there. I left India and got settled down here in Isarel, but I miss every thing about India. When I get up in the morning, I think this sun , sunshine, winds, flowers , trees, food, roads, people, everything is like stranger for me. I don't feel satisfaction. I am missing sun of India. sunshine of India, those green trees, smell of first rain, people who spoke my language, who shared my happiness and pains. You see when one leaves his original country, he is always missing it. Many people have settled down in other countries, but I am sure like me they all are missing their orignal birth country.If someone will ask me if he should leave is country, my answer will be a big "NO".

The place you were born and brought ..will you feel strangeness there? You feel that you are safe in your settled place........................Migration brings in fears of alienation- unknown place , strangers all around.
