I have a sleep disorder thats associated with my fibromyalgia. My brain just won't "shut down" at night. All the things going on in my life just keep running through my mind. Its terribly frustrating. I take a prescription called Cymbalta. It has two indications of use: 1) depression - I'm not depressed and 2) pain - pain I definately have from the fibromyalgia. But it also helps me sleep. There are hundreds of thousands of people who have trouble sleeping. But if it is a long term problem, I would speak to your doctor about it to rule out any other problems. Good luck. Hugs!

I think what you are having is insomnia. This happens when you are under stress or worry about something or probably hormonal changes. Or probably you like to stay up late to watch you favourite tv program or maybe, surfing the internet. I have insomnia. I can stay up for 24 hrs and still have the energy to do housework. But after a few days of sleeping problems then I will have staying up problems. It means I start to get sleepy very early. I did take note when and what I was doing when I am experiencing insomnia episod and also sleepiness. The result was, insomnia to me is connected to my stress level, worries and hormonal changes. When I dont have all that I can sleep better. I hope you take note when and what you are doing that keep you awake. Do the opposite and probably produce some good result.

I suffer with insomnia also plus panic attacks or anxiety attacks, what ever, but I have found after remembering what an old neighbour once said to me that it is a good idea to eat an apple a little while before you go to bed, I have been trying this and I have been getting a rather good nights sleep so it is worth a try....
