This is in response to the people in other countries putting America and Americans down. I have a few things to say about it and instead of repeating myself over and over I am going to say it like this.
In my country we get to vote, the leader of this country can only be leader for 8 years so we progress as the time change. In your country you are ruled by Dictators, Kings, Queens, Some areas terrorist cells. If you don't like your government the only way to change it is going to war.
In my country the voting process, brings about change. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I personally don't like Bush and what he is doing right now. But he has done a couple of things right, here at home, not many but still, next year we vote and we get someone else. You are stuck with whom ever you got.
In America, I have many opportunities do do what ever I want to do. We have education for all Children In America, even illegal immigrants.
In America you can believe in what ever you want to without being stoned, or thrown in jail. If your god is a Rock so be it, or a Godess, or Budda, or anything in between, its good.
America is a place of FREEDOM. People in America are not dumb, stupid, or ignorant. Yes, they maybe some people here that are, but there are everywhere.
From the discussions I have read today people bashing America and Americans, they are truely the ignorant people here.
I understand that people smart people everywhere, dumb people to. The thing that shows really how smart you really are no matter what your IQ is; is being able to stay opened minded and know that one persons behavior doesn't speak to a country as a whole. Believing everything that you read and see on the televisions news stations, shows really how informed you really are about people, in general. You need to open you mind, so you can stop hating yourself for what ever inperfections you have.
I close saying this.
I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN
Where At least I know I'm Free
And I won't forget the men who gave that right to me.
If you start it in my country know that I will Fight to keep my country free.
In America we have the right to for Milita's and if you bring your war here, I know others believe as I do and will also fight to keep her free.
So If you don't like us, then stay away from us. Don't come here to our country.
I also want to make clear, I don't hate other people from other countries. I just am so tired of people thinking I should apolgize because I am an American.
I know my family tree, I have been able to research it back to 810 on one side already and to 1012 on the other side. I know what countries people in my family hail from and how I came to be an American.
I am proud of all my hertiage, and want to visit many of these place someday that I haven't been to yet.

i believe that people wont simply hate other people for no reason. your statement "if you don't like your government the only way to change it is going to war" is absolutely WRONG!. war bring no good anybody inside or outside the country.
i honestly don't think that people condemn everything abt the big america. if we were to conclude all the bashing directed to this big country, i wud say that they are bashing america's oversea policies..

So, you can be a proud American if you want but if you think you can do that by putting down other nations and discounting their rich histories and traditions then you are as ignorant as those you are responding to.
"In your country you are ruled by Dictators, Kings, Queens, Some areas terrorist cells. If you don't like your government the only way to change it is going to war."
No, not really...and actually my place of birth - the country that I was born in was the birthplace of the democracy that the US keeps giving lipservice to as if they invented it. Take your own advice and don't believe everything you see in your media. If you travelled more you'd see that this is what the media in your country likes to portray of other nations. Get a passport and explore for yourself.
Have you really personally fought to keep your nation free? I know I personally haven't and I would never get on the bandwagon of my ancestors who did. Those who have been to war and experienced true war don't have such bravado.

I wasn't bashing any other country or nation. I know that America isn't the only country with democracy. I wasn't putting down any other country either. I making a point from others discussion, on how much they hate America and Americans and they have never been here. I am not saying I hate other cultures or countries. Go back and reread what I said. Because I am proud of all my history.
On fighting to keep my country free. I will when the war comes to my land. I don't believe in fighting other's wars. I believe our troops should be here protecting America, not off in far off nations fighting wars that isn't theirs to fight.

Well, if you don't believe that the US is not the only country that (supposedly) is a democracy , then why did you make this statement:
"In your country you are ruled by Dictators, Kings, Queens, Some areas terrorist cells. If you don't like your government the only way to change it is going to war."
Are these not your words, or are they someone else's?

Yes they were my words and I should have made it clear, that if it don't apply to your country then let it fly. 90% of the world is rules, by Dictators, Kings, Queens, Some areas terrorist cells. Sorry I wasn't crystal clear on that. That doesn't mean that I am wrong or even deserve to be bashed on my thoughts. The whole reason for this discussion was just to make a point, about how great of a place America is. If you haven't lived here for yourself you wouldn't know that.

I am so glad that you began this discussion...you wrote so beautifully the thought of so many of us....I do not see where you criticized any other country in your post...
While my hsband and many others in my family have fought to keep this country free...I feel VERY strongly about our "right to bear arms" and I can also guarantee that when and if "war" invades our soil here at home.....it will be a fight to remember!!!
I am also proud to be an American.....I do not believe in judging anyone else bashed upon their "differences" from me no matter what that difference is.....
Almost all of us would be able to trace our heritage to somewhere else in the world....and the same can be said about many other coutries citizens...since the availablility to travel easily...people have been visiting other places more frequently and falling in love with people who differ from themselves...we are all intermingled to some extent....
These are my thought on this..I want once again to tell you that YOUR WORDS REFLECT HOW MANY AMWERICANS FEEL and I humbly add myself to that group!!!!

Thank you for really reading my words to this discussion. It means alot. Some many people want to half read something, then instead of asking question on points that are not clear, they want to bash others. I love America, but I also love planet earth. All of her, and you saw that I want to visit the other places, where my family comes from and I am proud of that heritage.

I feel that you made your point very well..I took your discussion to mean that you are a proud American and while, you personally try to show tolerance and understnding about the people who are different, it upsets you when others blatantly "bashing" America or anybody else for that point.
I felt that you left your discussion open to the ideals of others in a resoectful manner. It seems a shame to me that some people must thrive on nit-picking everything...and find fault with anything and everything.
I, also have great appreciation for mother earth and all that entails........Have a blessed day and do not allow others to make you feel that you have to defend your individual thoughts!!
Thanks again, my friend.

I am an American and PROUD of it! It took me awhile to find this discussion, but I agree with most of it.
I think war is stupid no matter what. I know it is a reality, but I still think it such a horrible waste of lives.
Being married to a solder, I travelled (or he has) to many parts of the world. I prefer to live in the U.S. I happen to like the freedoms we enjoy.
I think, unless you are an American Indian, all of us here can trace roots to different countries. I've traced ours to communist countries. Obviously America had something they wanted or they wouldn't have come here.
If you don't like us, leave us alone. Don't buy our products or sell your stuff to us. If you are here and don't like us, go home. That is one of the freedoms...to leave if you want.
I still like the old bumper sticker...'America. Love It Or Leave It'!

You are a women that has a strong feeling for America as I do. The discussion you put here is beyond fantastic because it says what every true blue American feels. You don't have to agree with a country to see it's good points which America has a lot of. If you don't like the country than like you said stay away from here. No one is twisting anyones arm to come here. I join you in say I Am Proud To Be A American. The land where a person can be free. Thanks for the very great discussion.
