Which kind of person are you, are you a person that spends most of your time in the past, remembering the good ole times? in the present dealing with the day to day activities of life? or forward looking towards the future. Do you find yourself thinking about old boyfriends, and friends alot, what it was like when you were still at home, or still in high school, do you like to play old songs and watch a lot of old movies, these are qualities of a person who lives a lot in the past. Do you hate old movies and only want to see what is playing now, and here the new songs as they come out. If one of your friends leave town do you forget about him/her and just bother with the friends you have right now. Do you get your pay check and buy the things you want now not caring about saving for tomorrow? When someone says to you what will you do tomorrow you answer, I don't know let me first figure out what am I going to do today, is a person lives in the present. Or are you a forward looking person, a person who lives in the future, you get your pay check and you save money for tomorrow, you make your evening meal dinner and already begin to prepare in your mind what you are going to serve for tomorrow. Do you think about what school or job you want to go to in the future? What your next vacation will be, what kind of life you will have in ten years? I think I am a bit of both, I am a writer that write about the past, I live in the present with day to day issues and I think of the future and my success in writing. some are all three but some tend to do more of one thing and that is okay too. What are you and why?

I would have to say that I am probably a little of each. I do find myself thinking about the past alot, because there are so many things I would like to change or take back and I know that I can't. The present is important too because I have a couple of kids including a 3 year old boy who I need to take care of. And I think of the future too because I wonder how my son will turn out when he gets a little older and if I will have grandchildren. I also wonder what kind of a world we will be living in say 30 to 40 years into the future. I also believe that saving money is important but there are times that I really need to spend money for things right away.

I love researching the past for my hertiage. I love to learn about my ancestery. I love to learn about the beginning of the world and the church but I never think about old boyfrieds. I love life to the fullest. I love that I am alive and given the opportunity to become better than each day than I was the day before. I am working towards eternal life. I so want to spend eternity with my family. So I dont really fit into any of the groups you listed but I also fit into all of them.

I find myself more of a mixture of all three of these type of people. I would say that I am more of a present and future minded person, though. I do think about the "good old days" sometimes. LOL But, I do not dwell on anything like that. I look back and think about things I might change if I knew then what I know now. But, then I think that anythingn I changed would change who I am today and I rather like myself. :) I live day to day mostly. I spend as much time as possible with my children and try to make their childhood loving and memorable. I also look to the future and try to plan things so my kids will have more in their lives and not miss out on things.

Winterose, I was just thinking about the past today regarding people in my life, especially relatives. I said to myself upon arising that instead of thinking and remembering the bad and the negative things about people I will choose to think of the good things that I like about them. And after much practice I will no longer gossip about the bad things that they have done. But I also understand about what you said about the past because you are a writer and you need the past to build you concept to your stories to make them plausable.

I'm definately a future person. I'm currently planning for my business, so I don't have to be where I am now. I want money, I want to have a good life so my wife won't have to work so hard and I want to give. Nice topic, it gave me motivation to work harder to think about my future accomplishments, Thanks.

I think I am a future person, but I always have one eye on the past, long before I was born. I do have an interest in history, you see. At the same time I enjoy learning about advancements in technology, looking forward and thinking about what the future can be like. I rarely spend enough time in the present to think about it. That is something that I would like to change.

I want to live in the present moment, because that is all there is. I like things from the past like old songs and movies. I also like to look a head somewhat and make some plans that might happen in the future. The main thing is, that you have to be present right now and be active in creating your future. If you just sit back, you will get little of what you would like to have. But to enjoy life, everything happens in this time(right now). The past is long gone and to dwell on it is futile. Thinking of only the past robs you of the now. That is how I see it. Give me right now, and I can choose to feel however I like. Happy, grateful, or at peace with the world.

I keep with up with current affairs because it is important for us to know the latest news with what's happening in the world today, I cn't go one day without watching the news but I dwell alot in the past. I daydream and go back to happier times of yesterday in my mind.

I like doing both as well. I love to bring back memories of the past. All the great times I have had in life. Old boyfriends and old loves. my children when they were Little. The I like to look to the future and think about what might happen. If i can reach my goals. See if I can predict the future.

On the whole, I would say I have a present-to-future orientation. A friend of mine says I was born without the "nostalgia gene" that seems to go with sitting around an thinking about "the good old days." I don't necessarily agree-- I think it's more a case of my not being able to see very many good things in my past that are worth sitting and thinking about. That said, I do examine the past, but only as a "learning tool" for dealing with the present and future. I am a big proponent of "Living in the Now," since it's really the only piece of time we have. It's fun to speculate on the future, especially since I am trying to "build a better one," but I also recognize that there's a long way from "speculate" to "reality."

I'm more of a day to day person. I just don't have energy to look forward anymore & my past wasn't that great.

Hello, winterrose, I am the kind of person who like to focus on the present because it is the only thing oyu can control and change by myself,of course I will think about the past, but it is my memory only, I will get stuck at the past thing as i cannot change it. I will also work hard in the present for the future,I am saving money for my future, but I will not try to predict how my future will be because there are so many factors that i cannot predict, what I can do is focus on the present.

Now a days i am bit worried about my future, i am confused how my career is going to progress. Cause of the things that i have done in the past my future may be troubled. I am not satisfied with the way i am living right now and i am looking forward to change my life in the future. All i need is to find a nice job and then settle down. I do have a lot of plans for the future which will help me prove that i am a successful man.

I am a mixture of all three, and it really was evident this past weekend. I spent both days at family occasions, and it always seems like you share memories of the past occasions and the loved one who are passed on. I enjoy what is happening now to savor the moment, but I always look forward to the future. We have a lot of children in our family and they keep you hopeful and mindful that there is truly a wonderful God that we are blessed with these delightful children.

Hi winterose. I think I am one of those who has learned form the past, but try not to dwell there, I try to live in the here and now because that is where I am. I can not change what happened yesterday, I cannot see what will happen tomorrow, or even if there will be a tomorrow. But I can deal with now because it is here and now and the best part is I seldom get lost any more because I only live a few minutes at a time, I do make sure that I do not live beyond my budget, other than that I am in the here and now and it is wonderful.

I always live in the present. Glorious days of yonder lingers in my mind..but I cannot live in it,because it is gone forever. I look in awe the future, for I just do not know what fate has in store for me.

As for me , I very much live in the present. Can't forget the beautiful moments in the past. However it is of no use. coping up with present difficulties is perhaps your fate. Unborn tomorrow .. Who knows what it has in store for you !
