My favorite movie of all time is one that really impressed me as a child. It was called imitation of life and it was about two families, a white one and a black one. The white family took in a black woman and her daughter. The black woman became her maid and best friend. The thing was the daughter was so light skinned she passed for white. She wanted to be white so badly and as she grew up she told everyone she was white. She got a boyfriend and when he found out she wasn't white he beat her up and left her. The girl blames it on her mother and runs away. She starts dancing and performing and her mom comes and visits her. She tells her mom to leave her alone. She is ashamed of her and to never call her daughter again. When another performer asks the daughter who this person is, because she still wants to be white she says in front of the mother that she is just somebody who took care of her when she was little, in order words her nanny. The mother is heartbroken and leaves knowing she has lost her daughter and will never see her again. The mother dies, and is during the funeral procession the daughter comes home, crying and running after the wagon carrying the coffin, she is screaming she is sorry and she loves her mother but it is too late. What is your favourite movie and why?

It would be the sound of music. Who doesn't know the story of this movie? It's something I would make my daughter watch and she'd probably enjoy too. Eventhough it's old the music and the story is beautiful. I have a lot of favorite films but this is something I can watch over and over. I also like Starwars, I like the story, I'm not really a scifi fan but this one i appreciate.

I am a big fan of Tom Cruise and i liked many of his movies. Of all the movies he acted in i like the movies collateral in which he plays the role of a killer. Gladiator is also one of the movie which i liked and i think i watched that movie for almost 20 - 25 times now. I never felt bored with the movie.

i dont really have a favorite cause i love a lot of movies and they differ at one point so its hard for me to pick just one. what's on my mind right now that i like, immensely, is the lord of the rings trilogy. i love the effects, the characters and story itself. i especially like the love between aragorn and liv tyler(i forgot her character name). also, the situation wherein faramir(i'm not sure if i go the name right though) was torn between giving the ring to his father and letting go of frodo. somehow, the movie struck me as a portrayal of the weakness and strength of humans such as greed, love, jealousy, and trust.

The Princess Bride....I fell in love the first time I watched it when I was a child, and I still laugh and cry everytime I see it. In fact I own copies on both dvd and video so I can watch anytime I want. It stars Fred Savage, Robin Wright, Carey Elwes, Andre the Giant. Its about a princess and her farmboy who find true love...and the ordeals they face. The overlying message is that true love conquers all, but along the way there are hillarious scenes, you never know what's around the corner. And even after watching it a million times, even though you know what's coming, you start laughing just thinking about it.

I really dont have an all time favorite movie. I tend have different likes and dislikes depending on my mood. Today, I think my favorite movie would have to be Pearl Harbor. I love that movies. I enjoy historical fiction. The bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japaneese is just so real and memorable. I love action movies but do not watch any movie rated above a PG 13. So it is hard to find a good movie.

It really was hard to choose just one, as there were a number of great ones already mentioned here. Actually, I've just watched an oldtime favourite of mine, again quite recently. It's the original 'Miracle Worker,' starring Ann Bancroft and Patty Duke. This is the true story of Helen Keller, and her friend and teacher Annie Sullivan, who was able to breakthrough to Helen, and open up the whole world for her. It reminds me 'somewhat' of my almost 4 year old grandson who is struggling with autism, and the breakthrough in communication we're all hoping for.

rocky IV - rocky IV is my favorite
Hello, winterrose, may favourite movie is the Rocky series, in fact the one I like most is Rocky IV.I like the motto of rocky which he would never give up and fight till the end, even he was an underdog everytime,he was fighting hard, when he fell down on the rign, he climed up and fight again, when he borke his eyeballs, he wiped off the tears and blood and fight again. In rocky IV, he had been fighting for many rounds with a Russian boxer at the ring in russia, without the support of the audience and the opponenent is very strong indeed, rocky seemed to have losen but he did not give up, finally he won and even the audience even cheered for his determination.
