I've had my share of jobs over the years and only liked a few of them.(notice I said LiKe)In 2003 is when I came across a field of work that I LOVE doing and that is working with mentally challenged adults.I wouldn't give it up for the world.(Again notice I said LoVe)

oh, my boyfriend is a teacher for special adults for five years (more or less) and according to him, even if it's too challenging and stressful at the same time, so far, it's the best job he has ever had in his life. i laugh about it... saying that i am his worst student since i make fun that i a special adult, too because i am annoying and causes him stress, too. hehe.
anyway, i am a pharmacist and had worked for four years using my profession. and i love my work. too stressful and challenging, too. but i like the way how i reach to people. most pharmacists just dispense and take payments and that's just it. for me, my profession is more than that. i give quality service with a smile. i explain everything they need to know about the medicines prescribed to them. i answer their queeries to the farthest my knowledge could reach.
the best thing is that, i get thank yous and smiles from them. they walk out of the pharmacy feeling comfortable, relieved and confident. it's that kind of satisfaction i get...
would you believe that i gained lots of friends through my professions... all ages, all walks of life and even those who are dying? i respected them and i gain respect in return.
there are times when they come back looking for me... not because they need me to fill out a prescription for them. but because they dropped by to hand me something. funny, huh? yup. that's how they appreciated my simple gesture of fulfilling my work right and with courtersy. they said, i touched their lives a lot. that in this world of rudeness and cruel people, someone will extend too much help just to make them feel they aren't patients who needs cure but humans, too who needs care and understanding.
i love my profession and i like the way i touch others' lives.
happy myLotting!
p.s., how do i call you? disvachic? hard to remember! haha!

thanks shaneat! well, easier to remember. hehe. you see, i have difficulty in remembering names. but faces, avatars, i can't forget. maybe my brain is already so full or names... generic names of meds and brand names. hehe. just kidding.
that's why i am pissed off when staffs for "customer service" could not even handle people with a smile. if they don't have the patience, they should get another job where they don't need to work with customers everyday, right? and yup. i love my job. that's why when i go to sweden (i am from the philippines by the way) to be with my boyfriend, i will upgrade my pharmacy professional license to their standards so, i can still work as a pharmacist. i've heard that most people there NO longer give quality service. and i wanna make a difference.
happy myLotting shaneat!

Well i was working as a Software Engineer and i was earning a good amount. I was very much satisfied with that job but had to leave that cause i had my H1B visa opportunity and i have to leave that job.
Now i am looking for a job in the field which i am recently studying. I guess if i can get a job that would remain as my dream job.

Hi disvachic, I have had a few jobs in my life too. The two best jobs that I have had were working armed security and the only reason that I am not still in that field is because I became a Grandma. I have custody of my granddaughter and we decided that I could not do such a dangerous job with a child depending on me. So I moved on to the administrative side of it. I worked in the offices. Now I work for a Head Start program and I love it. It is where I will most likely stay until retirement. I work in the Social Service office and I deal with my parents and children. I am so satisfied with helping others. There are lots of challenges on my job and I have found my niche...Take care, nice question...

Im currently working as a customer service oficer phone in- in a telecommunications company here in the Philippines.
They say its the worst job in the world and I can be a living testimony to that. You know dsl and internet subscribers and even telephone subscribers are, they are always right and really nag alot when there are problems with the internet or dsl connection and telephone lines.
Its not about loving the job but I have no choice. I have been nagged and insulted for 9 years and now Im still here. Maybe through the years I have learned to love this kind of job.
About you job, I wish you all the happines, i know it may not be that easy but working with mentally challengd adults is like giving your life to them, and giving your life to someone is a legacy, something that cannot be taken away from you and from these people that you learne to care about.
Hope you have a blessed day!

Thank you so very much for your kind words!I really do love my clients they are so very special.Far as your job I have a cousin who used to work at UPS doing customer service. She would tell me alot of stories about how rude customers are to her when the package is not to their home,or tracking. So from hearing her stories I can imagine what your job is like. You have been there 9 years it has to be something you like about it.I hope you well and may your days be stress free @ work.Take care.

I'm currently working as an EFL teacher in Taiwan. I did not go to university for it, but people say I'm good at what I do. Recently, I quit my job to open up my own teaching center. I've alway been good at teaching and designing curriculums so I've decided to go on my own. But, sometimes I do get tired and would slack off. I'm sure everyone has times like that.

with the kind of patience i have in me, i had been approached many times to teach pharmacy in college and even kids in nursery. i love to do so actually. it's been a dream of me to put my knowledge to work and pass them to others. i admire teachers and at times, i dream of becoming one... a pharmacist and a teacher rolled into one.

I have worked in alot of fields as well. My current job is the most fulfilling and will probably be the one I retire from. (unless they fire me...lol) I am a 911 Dispatcher and translator. I have always enjoyed helping people, and what better way to do that then in their time of extreme need. I answer 911 calls and dispatch police/fire/ems. It can be nerve racking and sometimes boring. But all in all I really love it.

I don't even have a job at the moment, and that's probably cuz I havent found the thing that I love. I spend too much time at work to not enjoy what I'm doing. I'm currently looking into a CSR job that I can do from home. It won't pay much, but to avoid a drive to work, and know that I'm always home for my son, I think I might actually like this. I also work seasonally doing taxes for HR Block, which I actually really do enjoy. but January til April isnt enough money to last me year round. I envy all you that are so happy in your careers, and hope I will someday find something that makes me just as happy.
