I know, I'm lame. I don't know how to say it in the current trendy words, but I'm talking about cars and music with bass. But why on earth do people invest money in car stereos and blast them at full volume? Does it sound good when it rattles peoples homes? If you own one of these cool stereos, do you turn it down when you get in neighborhoods? Could you tell the people around here to do that lol?

Quite honestly I wish I understood why these guys feel the need to inflict their choice of *music* on everyone else in the street, it just seems to inconsiderate and thoughtless. I play my music in my car quite loud, but I don't have it pumping out to the entire neighbourhood.

Man, you're always picking on my husband! First the radio controlled cars now this. :) Just kidding. I know my husband is still a little boy and still likes to play with loud toys.
My husband has a stereo in his beater truck that is worth roughly the same as the truck. In his defense, he bought the stereo before he rolled the truck and lowered the value so much. :) I still think it's dumb, though.
We hear him before he gets on our street. Elliott will run to the window calling "Daddy home! Daddy home!" every day that my husband is in the truck instead of the car (We have an '05 Malibu Maxx that has a bunch of stuff on the radio display so until the warranty is up he won't be messing with that radio). If he had the choice, he would listen to nascar that loud, too. I don't let him listen to anything in the house that loud, though. We live in an apartment.
I've asked him repeatedly to turn the radio in the truck down. He just keeps saying he likes it. Oh well. At least when the baby is in the car, he leaves the volume reasonable.

haha! Well I guess there's one good thing if you can hear the husband coming, I always like to do a quick sweep of the house to look like I haven't been on the computer all day. If I heard him coming I'd have a better chance of doing that lol.

It only bothers me when the music is terrible, but I console myself by laughing at them, because your mother is right... people who have to try really hard to be cool are making up for some lack in another area! I only turn up my stereo when a really good song is on, and never to noise violation level!

No i do not own one of those stereo systems but it anoys me also. Exspecialy at 10:00 at night when it is all nice and quiet and then you hear it down the street comming. We live next to a busy street and of an afternoon there is one car like that almost every 5 mins. Shakes the glass and it almost sounds like the glass is going to shatter. Sometimes even th clean empty bottles fall off the bench from the bass. I know exactly how you feel. One afternoon i might go on the top of my roof and throw eggs at the cars with the loud bassy music lol. Might And pray that they get the hint.

They like to listen to music very loud with the base because it sounds good to them inside the car, but outside it sounds terrible. It's just like if you were to go to a concert. The sound inside sounds wonderful, but outside? It sounds very bad with lots of bass and vibrations. That is why many neighbors around concert halls complain of the noise, but there are many people that love to go to concerts.
