How do people come up with their ideas for a discussion? Am I just too narrow in my thoughts to not create a topic that I think people will respond to? I feel like the only time I am actually doing anything here is when I respond to a discussion, as my topics that I start don't receive many responses. Please provide some insight on how to make a discussion work.

I have problems with this too. I may get a few responses for some of my discussions but never on the top list. I am not sure how people do this. Some people search on the internet to come up with ideas. And others read the discussions and come up with ideas that are similar to the already existing discussions.

I sometimes have problems also finding topics that I want to reply too also. A lot of times I find topics that do not peak my interest one bit. I guess I should quit trying to really get into too deep of discussions, and just talk about everyday things.
