I just returned from seeing dad and the cardiologist. he had an agioplasty done. There are "MANY" blockages. They are transfering him to a different hospital Tuesday. Wednsday morning dad is going to have bYpass surgery. He'll be in the hospital 5 days minimum then in a nursing home for at least a week and more than likely a lot longer due to his inactivity of the past. i DON'T KNOW IF HE IS MORE SCRAED OR i AM ABOUT THIS WHOLE SURGERY THING. i'M A NERVOUS WTRECK HAVING TO CALL ALL THE FAMILY TO LET THEM KNOW OF WHAT'S GOING ON. nOT AN EASY TASK IN THE LEAST i TELL YOU. So I more than likely won't be starting discussions much nor responding. I'll be on and off mylot though so I will do some. I also talked to a Dr about my stress level at this time and will see when he gets done with surgery if I may need more help as far as stress help. Everyone take care and have a great time here. I'll be around and hopefully back to my old humurous self soon on mylot. Later all. Thanks for any and all prayers and well wishes also.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I'm very sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he's doing well after the angioplasty. Any serious health problem (of ours our loved one's) is always stressful, so many people can certainly relate to your stress, but do try to take care of yourself too. Make yourself do it. I wish you and your family the best and send prayers for your dad.

Wow! And again I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope all goes well with your dad's surgery. I believe God will guide the Dr.'s hands and give your dad a speedy recovery. Try to do something to help your stress like maybe some gardening. I finally got to do some raking here yesterday. Still have big spots of snow but the rock gardens and some grass are apearing. (82 degrees here today.)

I'm tired of doing gardening work already. Hahahaha!
I'm actually heading to the Bingo Hall soon.
That or slot machines relieve my stress bigtime.
I'm hoping to win also.
Take care & thanks again.
It means a great deal to me and my family.

Hello grandpa, thank you for updating us about your father's condition. I know its not easy to face something like this. Please, remember to take care of yourself too. I can't blame you if your stress had shoot up to the sky, I know mine will be over the moon. I admit I miss your humorous self. But that can wait. Its better to look after your father for the meantime. God bless and happy posting, grandpa.

Best wishes for a successful surgery. This can be a very stressful time, but he should be in good hands. Doctors are very good at doing these procedures now, so hopefully everything will go smoothly. Clearing the blockages will probably help increase his activity level too, once things start circulating correctly again. Our prayers are with you! :)

I was in your shoes on June 19, my husband had a quadruple bypass. He was in the hospital 5 days but there was care that had to be done at home, more than I could provide, because he's also diabetic and his leg didn't heal real great. They had to open his leg in two different places and believe it or not that gave him more grief than his chest. The incission is not bad at all on the chest. Recovery was fast. They had him up walking on day 3 and he was back to work at the end of October. I realize your dad is older but my husband is very unfit. He is at least 90 pounds overweight, in fact the doctor said he wished he was 100 pounds less plus like I said he's diabetic. I'm not going to tell you, don't worry because you will and that's to be expected. It's a good thing you're getting nursing home care for your dad. Take a couple weeks off if you can because this is a mental drain. I'm praying for dear old dad and you take care Grandpa Bob, we don't want the news that you're in the next bed. Blessings!!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to your dad and your family. I know this is very hard. My grandfather is in ICU right now after having emergency surgery on Friday.
It's so tough when someone we love has to go through so much stuff, but thank goodness for the medical marvels that exist out there that keep our loved ones with us as long as possible :)

I myself have already undergone angioplasty early last year and I guess the people around me were just as concerned as you are right now with your dad. Bypass is more radical than angioplasty but then, it is just as worrying.
Your dad is already in the hands of able medical caretakers. I'm sure they will take care of him and do everything to help him cope. On the other hand, you also need to be looked after well, as you yourself said that you are undergoing a very stressful time. You won't be of any help to your dad later, if you will become a victim of stress yourself. So please try to relax, you may have heard this a thousand times already, but it is needed. Take care of yourself so you can also take care of your loved ones. It's not an easy task but you need to do it.

My father had a quadruple bypass about 5 years ago. Is this the same or similar to what your Father is having?
My Father came out of it very well, & hasn't looked back.
His blood pressure is good, his cholesteral is great, & he can walk a lot. He lost weight, & is now at a good size.
If I recollect properly, your Father is older.
You have my best wishes & so does your Father.

Oh I am sorry to hear about your dad. I hope all goes well with his surgery. Several years ago my mom had double bypass surgery. And then the following year my father had triple bypass surgery. It is certainly a very difficult time. Just keep positive thoughts and be there are much as you can for him.
