I always drive with one hand, it's a habit know.
When i'm speeding and i have make a sharp turn then i use 2 hands. But most of the time when i'm driving i use one hand to drive.
It really depends on the situation.
How you drive with one hand or with two?

i noticed this to many drivers... especially to drivers who are really good and confident at what they do already. but still, whenever i see people just driving in one hand, i get nervous in their behalf. maybe because i am nervous myself when driving. take care!

I am living way out in the country and I would be taking my life in my hands if I even attempted to drive with one hand. I could end up with no hands and it is not worth it. There are so many potholes in our roads that it needs two hands to try to control the car and speeding is out of the question as I would be likely to burst a tyre if I hit a pothole. It is also against the law, so this is a good enough reason for using both hands while driving.

I mostly drive with one hand unless I'm in town or in heavy traffic. It just depends on the situation like you said.

I usually drive with one hand as well. The only times i drive with both hands is if it is raining really hard or a snow storm and I am a little bit nervous.

It completely depends on the situation, but I almost always drive with one hand. The other one is normally resting on the gearstick or on my lap.
Of course I use both when parking etc. but with power steering on most cars, you only need both hands when you need to turn the wheel more than halfway round.

It depends on the road ..!! one hand or two hands.
If the road is all smooth and long for the easy swift of car ,I use one hand but when the roads are hell like then I prefer two hands.
I must say when I am in hurry I use two hands.
If I have to choose one from your option then I would say two hands .

Hello, Augustta, I would drive with two hands,I think it is not really good to drive with one hand, sometimes I saw some people were eating a hamburger on their cars while driving with one hands, it seemed to be dangerous, isn; it ?

The correct position to drive is with hands at the ten to two position. Well, that's what I'm told anyway. I, like you, drive with one hand. I don't hold the wheel, but more like drape it over the top of it. Probably not the safest way to drive, but, hey, I'm still here after 20yrs of driving!

I drive since '95 and never had an accident. I changed two cars, i drived over 100.000 km, i love speeding (i was caught some times) and i drive using one hand on the wheel and the other on the girl i have in the right side ... :))
Anyway i rarely use both hands on the wheel.

I was a professional driver and was taught to drive with both hands. I still drive mostly with two hands. That is to be sure I can control the vehicle if an emergency arises. I am not a speeder and drive to survive. I let all the crazies go by and aviod them as much as possible.

I always use both my hands while driving. I live in an area where the people drive like freaking idiots and most the time end up driving in the wrong lane or when going around curves end up in your lane. So I always have to be really attentive when out driving. Maybe once I move from here I will be able to relax some, but for now both hands stay firmly planted on the steering wheel.

I haven't got much practice here in the US, but in my native country, I was a reckless driver until I almost figured in an accident. That's why from then on, and even if I would dare to drive here in the States, I shall be driving with two hands even if the car is an automatic. Better safe than sorry for me. Take care on the road, and happy myLotting!

Hey, Well I normally drive with one hand too, even though your not suppose too, just habit for me as well, but sometimes I have driven with my leg, I mean steering the wheel with my thigh LOL and grabbing at the mirror with the free hand, while the other one rests on the window ledge, if you can make sense of that one lol
