What is acute leukemia? I realize it is the worst type of leukemia. But what more can you tell me about it? What are the stages of progression to death? A good friend has just been diagnosed with it...she previously had other forms of cancer which were all in remission but then this. We don't know/understand if this has come from one of the other forms. We also would like to know more about the various stages. The doctor was not very helpful today. He was very concerned about her getting her affairs in order...which we do understand the short termness, but we are very curious as to what to be watching out for. Any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi!
Well, what about your good friend and the stomach?
I listened to another patient in previous year with cancer who had a "zero" function of the digestion system! I've heard about a natural way to improve the "immune system" which starts...with the qualities of nourishment!
Have a nice day!

Time for a really strange response...are you actually in Carbondale or somewhere else in southern Illinois? Just about the same time that I saw your message, Channel 3 was doing a special on leukemia treatment on their for your health segment.
I think you could probably call their office and get a copy of it for you and your friend.
By the way, I am so sorry to hear that she ahs to battle this too. And, while I understand the doctor's desire to stress that she needs to get her affairs in order, I think it's awful that he didn't take more time to explain what she should expect. Personally, I think knowing what to expect helps when you are facing something like this makes it a bit easier to deal with.
Good luck!

my father has leukemia which has developed from a "myelo prolific blood disorder" which he has had for a few years. We had a neighbor who also had the blood disorder, but she gave up on getting the blood transfusions before hers ever progressed to leukemia. we shared a well with that neighbor, maybe something in the water?
Or maybe from years of using chemicals such as foggers on the lawn to kill pesky bugs, or bombing the house to get ants and spiders.
or perhaps from drinking diet beverages for decades especially sucralose is linked to troublesome ailments.
we may never understand the how or the why
