smelly feet - our feet should be taken cared of. it should look good and we should clean it properly in order for it not to smell. smelly feet are gross! smelly and dirty feet tell the kind of person you are. if whether or not you are concern about cleanliness or hygeine or not!
i am a filipino too. i am like you, from cebu, so i basically speak my native tongue which is cebuano, and tagalog for the national language and english which is the medium used in schools for the teachers to present their lessons. but aside form that i can speak small ilonggo. my mom is from negros as you see. i dont speak pretty go ilonggo but i understand it! aside from that, i speak bantayanon too. am quite fluent with bantayanon than with ilonggo because i have lived in bantayan for almost 4 years! i understand simple spanish too because my dad knows how to speaks a little spanish! someday i want to be vry fluent with spnaish and also i would love to learn chinese. mandarin chinese to be specific!

i speak 3 - 4 languages only.. and i thik it's not enough if i want to compare with my friends.. they do know more languages than me.. and.. language is a very important medium of communication.. do you agree? firstly, i want to learn chinese.. because i think china population is very big.. and i think most of the people there can commmunicate in chinese.. somehow.. it will prepare me for the future just incase china become the next superpower.. right? second, i would like to learn france language.. i like the sound and pronounciation of each words in that language.. it's very unique.. and i do like their hand expression while speaking that language.. i used to see it from television :)

I'm from the US so English is my first language. I also am conversational in French (ie an advanced college level). I know a bit of Mandarin chinese (i lived there as a teen) but i've forgotten a lot of it since I don't need it anymore. I think it's very true that as soon as you stop using a language, you forget it some (unless its your native tongue). I dont really have the desire to learn anymore languages. I'm pretty bad at it, so i'd rather focus on areas that i have more strength in...since learning languages isn't one of them!!

Well three, but I don't speak Spanish that well, but I'll try to improve it. Today if you don't know at least three languages you're for no where. We're living in a multicultural world and we have to show how multicultural citizens we are. When I was six my teachers were telling me that a foreign language is an open window to the world.

I agree with your view. Now I really find that I learned nothing except language. I don't know computer tech, laws or any other subjects. What I know is how to translate Chinese into English or translate English into Chinese.Sometimes I feel that I were a man-made machine which always does translation without any other thinking. Though a foreign language is an open window to the world, but just knowing the language is not enough in the modern world.

I speak English, pretty good French, and some Japanese, Italian, Swahili, and Spanish. I love learning languages, and would eventually like to be fairly fluent in at least a dozen or so. I want to travel the world, and I'm a firm believer in having some grasp of the language in the countries you visit.

I know two languages only. I am also from the Philippines, Kabayan! But I am from Tagalog regions thats why I only speak tagalog. But of course I can speak english too. I worked in a chinese community before and since then I wanted to learn how to speak chinese. I even bought a book with cassette tape included so I can listen to the tape as I read the book to know the right pronunciation of the words. So far all I know are the basics like, "Ni Hao Ma" =) I also learned how to count in chinese.

I can speak & write fluently English, Hindi, Malayalam. I can understand little bit of Sanskrit, Tamil & Gujarati too. The languages that I wish to learn..hmm its a long list. Spanish is first on my list because down here in Miami it would be really helpful to know Spanish. Majority of the people speak Spanish and everywhere you go first thing people talk to you even for wishing is Spanish. So definitely Spanish as soon as possible. then lastly Mandarin (chineese), i know its one of the toughest language..due to all the pictograms and variations.. but really hope to make it..
