I think I'll stick to my friend's discussions from now on...

Yesterday I went all out and posted in a lot of the hot topic discussions as they seemed a simple way to expand my interests and points. Today I notice that about ten of them have been removed from my points and I thought they were all reasonable conversations. Best to stick to your tried and true friend's conversations I suppose because I don't seem to lose a lot of points that way. What do others think about this? Have you had a similar experience on here?

Maybe they removed what you you have posted because it violates the rule in mylot but I'm not sure. I haven't noticed it yet with my posting because I'm a newbie here. I think you can ask the staff of mylot why they removed what you've posted.

Thanks for your reply. I don't think there was any violation on my part but maybe a few discussions were removed. It just seems that when I go outside my friends topics this starts to happen.

I have never lost any points or had a discussion deleted here yet. Did you post a lengthy reply? Sometimes they delete short replies. But I hear a few people that have had that same problem and I don't understand why either cause they said they posted a long reply

I don't think I violated any of the rules. I have been here over 6 months and haven't ever had too many points deleted. I always post at least three or four lines to my answers also so am putting it down to some of the discussions being removed for whatever reason. Thanks for your reply.

Ever since I made someone mad on here, I have been careful to what I respond too. Its usually safe to stick to friends discussions. But lately they seem to delete discussions that I don't understand why they deleted them. I guess its just a chance we have to take.

I agree with you. Sometimes I have no idea why they have deleted the discussions either.

I also responded to some random discussions last night and I know I didn't violate any rules, nor did I give short responses. When I checked my points this morning I found that I had lost about six points. These points might not have been for discussions which I responded to last night, they could have been for discussions that I responded to some weeks back. I know one person who I responded to was banned as she was one of my friends and she sent me an email to tell me she had been banned but I thought I had already lost the points for responding to her discussions. It is just so difficult sometimes to understand what if going on and it would be nice if myLot could let us know what discussions were deleted.

I agree it would be nice to know why some points are deleted and we can try to avoid it in future.

Sometimes I venture out into the "other world" of postings and sometimes it is fine..other times I read posts and see some of the guidelines being bent..and I am afraid to respond. Several discussions have caught my eye but in the responses or the post I will get the feeling that they won't pass inspection so I avoid them....My friends are varied and offer good posts usually so I am happy to always respond to them and also to anyone else that has a quality post.

I guess we may never know why we lose some points. Thanks for responding.

I haven't really noticed any points being subtracted, but I do fear deletion. I normally stick to my friends discussions. I average about 1 friend request a day from those discussions I respond to. I am very choosy with what I reply to. I don't want all my efforts to be erased just like that.

I agree it is a bit of hard work and that's what upsets you more than the points or money being lost. Thanks for your response misheleen..

I've started to wander around myLot a lot more than I did before because I felt that I was just seeing and responding to the same people all the time so like you I thought it would be a good way to expand my interests. I've started checking the "new user discussions" and "recent discussions" and "discussions from my interests" a lot more lately and I must admit I'm enjoying myLot more since I've been doing that because it was becoming a bit stale. However, I have noticed my points seem to fluctuate a lot more now and discussions I've responded to seem to get deleted for no good reason as far as I can see! I'm sticking with it for the time being though.

I am having the same problem. I have been here for 6 months, and there have been a lot of negative changes the last few months. If it weren't for the great friends I made, I would be off this site.

I do not think that you violated the rules but probably the person that posted the topics that you replied to many have violated the rules and was deleted, which means all the people who commented also got deleted. I just lost about 36 points last week and was not sure why either. We have to be careful about the posts that we reply to and make sure they are within the rules. Some posts are pretty obvious to not post to but others we need to check the rules on.

I have been loosing points left and right every day. It gets very fustrating. I mostly stick to my friends, and try to post a decent post. So, I don't know what to say. You know that MyLot does things and never explains or emails us why. I hope you don't loose anymore. I love your posts, and always rate you + for them. Hugs, M&M

Like you I tend to stick to posts made by people on my friends list or I will follow a discussion a friend may have posted in. The rare times I have posted in the Hot topic discussions, I ended up with people adding me as a friend then sending me links to their money profit sites, I consider that junk mail. People who's first message to me is a link to a money making site, are deleted straight away. I have not lost points that I know of, but then I am very picky now on where & who I post in. good luck

I've heard about this happening, and I know my numbers go down now and then, but I don't go back to figure out what's been deleted. It's not that big a deal to me. I do tend to stick to safe topics, like kids, family & laundry. :) Nothing super controversial there.

I have not had that happened to me yet. I always start at my friends discussions and than work myself around to the other areas. If they are short one word or one sentence responses I suppose mylot might delete them. They want good quality responses and discussions here.

Hello,14missy,I had similar experience before, but i lost only two or three posts, it was due to the deletion of discussions by mylot due to the violation of discussion rules, may be the topic have been used inappropriately or is misleading in nature. Anyway, i will stick to the discussions from my friends, after I turn on the notify buttons for everyone ,my email is swarmed with mylot messages and discussions,I will try my best and choose some good ones to reply. Anyway, good luck and enjoy your day.
