Yeah i agree wearing dark colour clothes like black and red absorb sunlight and amkes one feel hot and sweaty. So one should lighter colour cothers like light blue blue, light green, yellow will make one feel cooler compared to darker coloured clothes as it will not attract sunlight.

Yes this is true. i think its because lighter colors tend to reflect the rays of the sun and so we dont feel so hot. Whereas darker colors like black absorb heat. This absorption of heat makes us feel warmer. Thats why white is such a popular color during summer. As it reflects all of the heat & light of the sun.

The same applies to cars. If you live in a hot climate you should buy light colored cars, not black or dark colors as they get much hotter.

this is true... that is why i wear mostly pastel or light colored clothes these days. i already kept my dark clothes at the bottom of my closet so that i won't have the urge to wear it. i'll just use those again when rainy season begins.

I believe dark colors give the impression of warmness that's why we feel hot when we wear something like black and red especially when at the beach. :) It's summer in our country so I have to wear white shirts as much as possible just to look definitely neat from the summer's rays. :) Light colors are helpful as well. :)

yes that is absolutely true, black attracts the heat and you feel much hotter than if you are wearing the light colours that you see come out in summer.

Yeah I made that mistake today. i wore a black t shirt when I went outside with my neice and newphew. I had a hard time walkng. So besides from the sun and me having multiple sclrosis that black t shirt had me over heated too.

Oh yes black and dark colours will attract the sun and heat and while cool colours such as yellow, blue or any light colours does not attract the sun as much so that you can keep cooler on these particular days.

Isn't this *science*? Light colors reflect heat and light while dark colors absorb heat and light. So if you are out on a hot day, you definitely want to dress in light colors. :P

That's really true and physics could greatly explain. Colors which are darker absorb heat a lot faster compared to lighter colors and the same is true with colored fabrics - this is the reason why we feel hottest when we wear black shirts during the day. But more than the color, I think the material of the clothing is also very important - cotton made clothes really are more comfortable to wear when it's hot than when we wear clothes with synthetic fabric.

I agree with you. Light colored clothes doesn't make you fell hot compared to when you're wearing dark colored ones. Light colors usually repel heat while dark colors absorbs it.

yes, wearing clothes with dark colors are not advisable in summer as it attracts the heat. in summer time, its better to wear cotton, loose clothes that are light colored to feel cool and refresh. another tip is when inside the house, minimize the use of light esp. in daytime as you will feel the hot inside the house and dont forget to drink lots of water!

That's true because lighter colors reflect lights or the sun's rays while dark colors absorb light. That's why if you wear light colored shirts you don't get too hot as when you wear dark shirts. During this summer it's best to wear light colored or better yet no dress hahah!!

Dark colors absorb heat and hence you feel hotter under dark colors and more comfortable in light colors. Light colors reflect heat away from the body and hence you feel cooler. Personally, I feel the material of the clothes does matter. Cotton ones are best for hot days.

Hello cherriemae. I heard that too or maybe read about it. That is what I always do. Wear light for bright/sunny days, dark for gloomy/rainy days. So this summer, all my pastel/light colored clothes are out again. :) Thanks and have a cool summer!

Yes, I notice that when I wear dark colored shirts. I usually perspire. So, whenever the sun is out and warm, I wear something that is light colored. Thank you for reminding me. Have a great day!
