Yes i do think i has had influence on the society, inte way that many of the things they imagined up back then is no a reality now. Not to mention that the first space shuttle was name enterprise as a decication to Gene Roddenberry.
I myself is a huge fan if these series :P

Thats one thing i will definetly agree to, is that Star Trek is definetly a generational thing, my parents watched it with their parents, my dad watched it with me and my siblings and while I'm not a HUGE fan (my husband is though), My kids watch with my husband. So I think its been good on society not only in imagination and maybe scientifically But also in familes

I have always been a great fan of Star Trek. I watched the first series in the sixtiesand as a result was a little disappointed when Next Generation came out. Needless to say that I soon became accustomed to the characters and started to really enjoy that series. The same applies to Voyager, which I now feel is the best of the Star Trek programs.
The one that I do not like is DS9. I watched a few episodes but it was more like a soap opera set in space than a science fiction series.
