i used to put the tv in a standby mode or i set a sleep timer so whenever i fall asleep it will automatically shut off.but i've heard in a news that it is best to turn off the tv by pushing the power button and unplug it.it saves energy and also a tip for fire prevention month since its summer time.do you do the same thing?

I am an insomniac so im really having difficulties in sleeping. I think im weird because I can't sleep without any noise from the radio or from the tv.Most often than not,I would turn the tv on till I fall asleep. It already became a habit for me, im so used in having tired eyes before sleeping, coz if I don't,I would be highly awake till the wee hours of the morning. My mom would often get mad because of she know that that weird habit of mine would cost high electricity.hehe My normal sleeping time is 1am,so the television would often be up until 2 to 3am,to the time I fall asleep.:)

Yes I always turn off the television etc before going to bed. I do not fall asleep watching TV. So no need to set timer. Only when day night cricket matches are there, I keep on the TV set and watch the match in between. When match reaches upto final stage say last 10 overs then I wake up and watch till last ball, result may be positive or negative, no matter. It is good idea to set timer for turning off the tv etc set but if we could off the tv completely it will attract more electricity saving.

I used to turn off the TV if I want to go to sleep,or else I will feel unsafe so I can not get asleep.and as you say:it can save energy and avoid fire,so I think it is a good habit!haha!
