Try Echinecea. It helps boost your immune system so that your body can fight the cold better. Take it as soon as you start feeling sick and keep taking it until you feel better. It works for me. It helps me get well faster. Unfortunately, there's no cure for a cold.

well, my grandfather always took 1 teaspoon of honey in 2 tablespoons of red apple cider vinegar and mixed it in a shot glass and followed it with a hot streaming cup of tea..every few hours... And eat as much garlic as you can and eat onions and peppers it helps break up the mucus..or you can do what every other person does and buy Nyquil

For dry and stuffy nose, try normal saline or salt water nasal drops made by adding 1/4 teaspoon of table salt to about 4 ml lukewarm water. Make a fresh solution every few days keeping it in refrigerator. Use a clean dropper to instill 1 to 2 drops in each nostril about 3 to 4 times daily for common cold .
Do not use medicated nasal drops without physician's consent as excessive use will cause chemical rhinitis with rebound block
Garlic juice made by adding few drops of garlic oil to a teaspoonful of onion juice and diluting it in a cup of water is helpful for common cold
Ginger tea or a teaspoonful of ginger juice taken with equal quantity of honey brings relief from common cold

Well, I usually like to drink lemon ginger tea with some honey and about a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. If you're brave enough, try a teaspon of honey with 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Take the first two doses about 1/2 hour apart, then take it once every three hours the rest of the day. It doesn't get rid of it instantly, but it flushes out of your body a heck of a lot quicker than otherwise. My record has been a two day cold. Also there's Airborn. That's some good stuff. :)
