Every one of us make a lot of plans throuhgout our lives, from short, everyday plans to long-term plans concerning which university to go to, what job to take up, or when to get married. Sometimes we just fail to realize them, while sometimes we make it. When I look back, I find most of mine haven gone far.
I decided to pick up Japanese half a year ago but gave up halfway; I also decided not to cut classes this semester but failed... Take a look at waht you have achieved or lost by now, do you agree that life is what happpens when you're making other plans, or are you confident that you have lived your life according to your original plan by and large?

I am the same in regards of giving things up halfway through it. The thing with plans is, that you never really fully plan how you are going to achieve them. As a simple example, if you looked in your planner and you see "Drinks at peters at 11". Thats a plan, but in that one you didnt write how you were going to get there, did you?
You never mentioned that you were going to travel by car to get there, taking a left turn at Scottsfield Terrace, or anything like that.
I think the same applies to having a life plan. You may set out to go to University. You know the basic fact that you have to complete High School to do this. What you may habe not planned out is exactly what you have to do in high school, what subjects to take, how your gonna get through the exams e.t.c You have to work all this out as your going through it, and its things like these that trip many plans up. It all sounds easy on paper.
With your example of Japanese and skipping classes, you may have planned to do both. But learning a new language is difficult and puts you off it a little, you may have had a teacher or lecturer that you really dislike so its hard not to. And these are the things that you cant foresee before making your plans.
So ( I have to stop babbling sometime), I think you can have a life plan. Its whether or not you can clear all the obstacles and achieve it.

I quite agree with you on the point that planed are usually not necessarily detailed as to exactly how they are gonna be carried out. Therefore it's much wiser to make reasonzable ones and work them out rather than to aim at unrealistic goals but end up with nothing.

I do not have any plan in my life,I just do something what I want to do without any plan.I know it is really very bad.I should collect it.But I have this habit so long time.I can not change it in a few days.Perharps it is also because I am so lazy to plan something.

Planning always forms the important part of our lives. We can never say what will happen when, as you know the future is always unpredictable so we have to plan ahead always. If we plan atleast we will be prepared for the eventuality & if then everything goes according to the plan in times of crisis then it will more than what we bargain for.
Its true lot of people do plan ahead & try to go by it but life will have something else for everyone. I myself did lot of planning & tried to go by it but i didn't succeed most of the time, but atleast i got saved in tight situations.
We will never be able to live life according to our plans & anything can happen anytime & it will come by giving a hint or sometimes it just hits us without us realizing what it is. But there are some occasions for some when everything will go according to what they have planned for, I can say it also depends on the time of execution of your plans as well is important & yes execution of wrong plan will also become a problem & it may take time to rectify the error as well.

I am sure that there are people out there that literally could plan their life, to set out a list of exact points in their lives where they have x, y, z and they would probably make a pretty good go at achieving many of those plans. HOwever my question would be at what cost, to be so focused and driven would likely mean poor social skills and lack of love and family. Life is full of ups and downs, challenges and the unexpected, and to that end, it's better to have an idea of the sorts of things you would like to acheive. If you don't do it, well, at least you tried, but don't live life according to a list of challenges on a piece of paper.

When I was younger I had planned out my life for several years to come, but life itself has a way of ruining any plans you may have made so I never did the things I was planning on doing and did other things instead. I've given up on planning ahead, but rather keep several choices that I can make in my head and just think of them once in a while. Sometimes I end up following one of them, other times I don't. I think this is the best way to deal with the surprises life sometimes throws at you, you have to stay flexible yourself.

i have that similar situation before.once i planned to learn german, and after i bought some books,i found the pronunciation is difficult,i gave up quickly.and now those books are still new, every time i saw them,i feel a kind of failure.and i decided not to repeat this again.so i seldom make big plans now,i make day-to-day plans, but maybe it's easy to say, sometimes i can not finish my plan, and sometimes i am even lazy to make plans.seeing your topic,i think it's time to change. thank you.

I believe that what we are right now is in God's plan but it's us who make it to the fullest, we can plan on what we want especially in life - our future, when we grow up and have a family. Everything is in God's hand but it's us who will plan and execute it.

I never plan my life because i believe that life never happens as we expect it to. However, i always set goals to achieve it...If our life was well-planned, it would actually be boring, eventhough we do not know what will happen...I also believe that things are meant to happen and we can't control the outcome of our life...
