When I bought new clothes for myself, I'll directly wear them if I have to. I like the texture and the softness of the clothes before I start tumbling them down in a wash maschine. Except for undies and bra's , I will always wash them before I wear them. I did wash carefully all new baby clothes when I was having a baby.
How about you....do you always wash your new clothes before you put them on or you'll wear them directly ?!?

Exactly, I also take the one that still wrapped in plastic bags or new ones....not the one for trying out.

Usually I get them washed before wearing since they are dirty.. They have been displayed in the store for days, weeks, or maybe months and also there were people who tried or fitted them. Sometimes I buy clothes because I badly need it like I have to use it on the day or the next day then that would mean there's no more time to have them washed, dried, and ironed so I'll have to wear it and just spray cologne over them. lol

i can easily go on with new clothes. and most of the time, i wear my new clothes even without the need of having them washed first. i don't find anything wrong in doing so.
and yup, undergarments ofcourse, i always wash them first before having them worn.
happy myLotting!

I have never washed the clothes before I wear them and now that you brought the question before my mind, I guess you really don't know who was handling the clothes before you bought them. I shop at a ladies wear store and the staff are pretty good about watching people there. I have seen the staff ask someone who had clearly been drinking to leave the store and come back when she was feeling better, so I guess that's just one of the reasons I have felt safe to buy and wear. This is a good thread though.

Yes I do wash my clothes before I wear them because I think that they have been worn before I got to them I shop at department stores and you can always try your clothes on before you buy i t i think that when you wash your clothes that is also a way to say clean and eliminate the dye that is still on the clothes and the fact that everyone has touched it

No, i do n't wash new clothes before wearing them. I think that there is no need of washing new clothes bcuz they r completelly new & no one has already used them. People must wash 2nd hand clothes before using them bcuz they have germs etc. in them & can affect our health but i never bought 2nd hand clothes & buy new clothes & wear them without washing before wearing.

Of course, if you don't have to wear it immediately you can wash them so it will be clean and ready when you wear it next time.

Yes I always wash the new clothes before wearing it. The reason behind is, if the clothes are redimade then so many people will try to wear it and leave it. In this way some virus etc may come to us with that cloth. So better to wait for 1 day more, always prefer to wear washed clothes. Though it is true that due to curiocity to wear new one, we cannot prevent ourself by doing this but it is essential. At shop I have seen the clothes comes under feet of many people which arrests dust particles etc which may affect our skin resulting into illness. My advise is that always wear new clothes after washing them properly.

I know what you meant, I've seen some of those clothes that lying on the ground and under people feet many times. For those clothes, I certainly wouldn't try it on....When I decided to buy, I always pick one that neatly on the clothing shelfs, or that still wrapped in a plastic bag.

it depends if the clothes looks really nice and is ready to be used then i will use it. But when it comes to underwear of course we have to do a lot of washing. We must think that these might had stumbled in the floors of different stores already so we have to clean up first before using it.

i always wore my new clothes directly from the pack irrespective to the texure though i usually prefer 100% cotton one. yes baby clothes we soaked them a few minutes in mild dettol water and the dried them before putting them on my little kids. i think unless you are buying clothes from a big lot on a roadside shop its not necessary to wash them before using them

Indeed !!! if I buy them from a big lot on a roadside shop and unpack, I'll definitely wash them. And yes, for baby clothings it is best to always wash them first before wear.

Good question!
I always like to wash them since it doesn't feel clean otherwise. But I never managed to get past my Mum. She says the "new look" is gone once you wash it.
Since I am not that fussy anyway, I just wear them the first time without washing.

I always wash them. I have this idea of people trying on the clothes, so I won't even try the clothes on at the store. I always just buy whatever I need then wash it & try it. I pretty much know my size, so I don't really have any problems doing this. I don't buy myself clothes very often anyway. As faras clothes for my kids or hubby, whatever I buy I know will fit as well. I know their sizes better than they do.

You are pretty lucky since you know exactly what size you need. Most of the time, I have problems with my own size....I use S (small size), but some brand just have different S (can be smaller, can be bigger). I don't have any problem when it comes for my daughter and husband clothes, though.

Hello Apakabar2007,
I always wash new clothes before letting them come into contact with my family. Aside from any dyes that may leach, all cloth is exposed to many people's hands, and equipment in the manufacturing process.
I prefer to be on the safe side when it comes to my family's health.

lol, am guiety of this too. l rarely wash new clothes before wearing, unless it has stains. l see it as being clean. Even undies, since they are brand new, l also dont wash them. l got to start now by washing them before wearing. l think its more hygenic.

As for my baby's clothes, I make sure that I wash them before he wears it. With regards to my clothes, it depends on where I bought it and the condition of the clothes. If I bought it on bargain I usually wash it because it is fitted by most customers most probably. But if it a new stock, still sealed in plastic, I wear it even without washing.
