fear of flying

As a teenager,(fortunately or unfortunately, I am not sure) I read a book of airline pilots and their final destination and last flight (they crashed of course). Ever since then I have had this fear of flying. I ventured once to California from Hawaii just because I wanted to go to Disneyland so badly, so I prayed on the plane and felt so awful knowing that the ground was so so far away. I never desired nor wish to ever travel ever again. In September of last year, I met someone online and am his fiance now and because I wanted to be with him, I flew 10,000 miles and spent 10 glorious days with him. I overcame my fear of flying because of love, I guess. Now I am willing to travel all over the world with him. Please I need others to tell me that my fear of flying is groundless (OMG what a word to use) and I would like to hear from people who overcame the same fear and hear from people who can share their love and their adventure on airplanes.
