I gained my partial independence when I started my university life. It wasn't total independence though because I was still dependent on them in terms of financial matters. But I also find my way to support myself and not to ask from them all the things I need at school.
Such practice made it a lot easier for me to have my total independence. Finally I had my total independence after graduation. I moved out from my family's house and rent a room for myself, find and job to pay for my expenses.
This gives me a feeling of satisfaction. It's really good to be on your feet!

i am still dependent on my parents since i am still a student a still young. and i think both my parents and i are not yet ready to give me full independence. and in the philippines it is usual that even when the children are old enough to be independent, they still choose to be with their parents, families have strong bonds.
