I have been in my currant job for the past 12 years and yes sometimes i am happy and other times i tend to feel a bit frustrated and bored with it,
The trouble that i find is because i have been there for a long time, i am on good pay and good holidays and i will have trouble finding that somewhere else, not only that i am a single mum of 2 so it is harder for me to change jobs, but i must admit i do look forward to the day when i know that i can

same feelings here, my job is also boring but i don't ha ve a choice as i am living in the province and whatever is needed in this area then that's the one you will get. I wish i can make my job more meaningful where i can grow a lot and more people to share with my experiences. But i am happy that i have this work coz there are lots who needs it that can't have. So even if its boring i am still thankful. This is the only way i can do to make my work worthwhile.

Is this job likely to lead somewhere? Is there a ladder to climb within your current employment? If yes, then start climbing the ladder. If not, then use the job in the short term to earn some cash and then get educated so you can take another career path - whatever takes your fancy. Being bored and then staying bored is your choice. Your circumstances will not change unless you take steps to change your circumstances. I hope you get excited about your future.

I've been employed by the same employer for almost 20 years. I've enjoyed the ride, but looking for the 20 year retirement plan. Since I have plenty of experience and have been planning for the date for quite some time, I'm looking forward to becoming a teacher.
Planning for the future is the key and keep doors open. Opportunities are always there, but you have to prepare yourself to take the plunge. If you know what you would like to do and it requires education, make a plan and achieve it. If it requires a skill, make a plan and obtain it. Life may throw curve balls, but that doesn't mean you have to stop everything. Be prepared to learn and do new things.
