Basically, I do prefer rice whenever serving meal. Just that, can't be complete the entire meal if don't have rice. As my habit, I do prepare it the usual way and sometime doin' it as a fried rice. If have much time, I look up to those outlet whom serving rice in a box. Kind a have combination of ingredients that makes it a package meal. You don't need to cook another viand cause "rice in a box" has it already. It's your choice whether you want to combined it w/ meat, fish, vegie and other additives that makes your favorite recipe. Somehow could try this option....nor share your's....

I'm trying to cut down on my rice intake as I'm on a diet. People who actually cut down on rice or have no rice at all have always been the ones who have the dramatic weight loss. I'm trying to replace my rice with mashed potatoes or a fruit. It's hard though because rice has been part of my every meal since I was a kid.

i prefer rice too i can't live without it. Even if i will be full of so many foods in my stomach i am still craving for rice. It is the staple food of the filipinos. Everyone love it here. You can have it with any kind of viands.

I suppose what country you live in makes a big difference.
In North America, people eat rice on occasion, but more often will have potatoes with their meal in one form or another.
They are both starches and have basically the same function.
Often that function is to complement the rest of the main course...Normally fish or meat.
