Well, it depends on how you look at the whole thing. There are dumb questions in general, but they are often asked by people who don't know anything about the subject in question.
You shouldn't be afraid to ask if you don't understand something.

The saying goes is that ask and you shall receive but yeah there are people that ask questions that are too dumb. I've had people ask me questions which they already know the answer to. And I've had people ask me questions where a certain location is and they are right next to it.

Here on MyLot the only dumb questions I've come across look like this:
Favorite Food...
What's yours?
Now what is the point of that? It took all of less then 10 seconds to type out, the poster didn't even give his own favorite food and no encouragement to the responder to share anything with them.
!!HAPPY EASTER!!

As they say, "The only dumb question is the one you don't ask", so no. I don't feel there are any dumb questions. I think, however, that the way that they are asked may sound dumb to someone else, but if you don't know something, you should always ask someone whom you think can give you an honest, knowledgeable answer.

No. Only dumb answers and you can see plenty of them here on myLot.

I don't think there's such a thing as a "stupid/dumb question" as a person might not actually know and be aware of the meaning around the whole question - the only thing there is that's "dumb" are, as previously mentioned, answers. The ones that of course add no value to a particular discussion, and are just desperate towards having a discussion be thrown off-topic, thus going elsewhere in god knows what directions.

LOL! I worked at IHOP for a while and we kept getting the new kids, you know, the ones that worked a day or two and said screw this and left. Well, we all placed bets on one girl who-to me- was dumber than a box of hair. She did end up lasting for about a month-I won $27! Anyhow, I trained her on almost everything. When it came to the soup rack, I told her very clearly--DO NOT TOUCH THE RACK WHEN THIS BIG RED LIGHT IS ON. She looked at me and said "why?". I said because it is over 200 degrees and is very hot. I thought I was going to die. Later that day I asked her to go to the bread rack and grab buns. She was standing next to it and said "what's a bread rack?". I quietly pointed it out that it was the rack right beside her with the buns on it. Still as trying as this was it was hilarious. She was learning the techniques of serving and asked me why we were called servers? I looked at her and said "you have no common sense do you?" What's common sense? she said. I thought I was going bald by the end of the day--that $27 paid off in the end. I would have paid that for the cab fare.

I think that there is a lack of knowledge which can come across as a "dumb question". The funniest question I've been asked is "my boyfriend and I made out... could I be pregnant?"
