need help...how to setup direct rendering on linux

I'm a linux newbie & I tried to install Windows games on OpenSUSE 10.2. 3D Games wont run since direct rendering is not enabled. Been trying to search for a solution from different forums, but still I need more info. Does anyone here know how to enable direct rendering on opensuse 10.2? By the way, I'm using NVIDIA graphics card.
