I was wondering if you guys could help me out here. I have seen discussions with dozens of replys to them. My record is 8 replys and most time it hovers around 2. I am looking for some tips to make my discussions more "response friendly". I am looking forward to everyone's input. The more the merrier. ;)

Try adding more friends, make sure that the words you use are appropriate for the sentence, the topic should be more interesting, and make sure that you place place it under a proper category in the interest section. Also try to limit your own posting, by this you can attract more responses from your friends. The time is plays a key role, as we have are from different parts of the world. Make sure that they turn their notifiers on, because this would inform them that you did post a new discussion. Rate them accordingly, and as much as possible, in a positive manner. This are some of the best ways I can think to help you genenrate more feedbacks from toher members, as I am more of a responder here in mylot!;)

That is some very good advice. Thank you. I will try to come up with some more interesting topics and see if that works out. Although I have seen quite a few that have 100s of responses that make absolutely no sense. Oh well, I haven't been here that long so I will just have to wait and see. :)

We all have discussions that gets justa few responses, however one way of making sure to recive more is to always rate your replies with a +, also ALWAYS hand out a best response, this way people see that u take your discussions seriously and reward the people for responding. Another great way is to have alot of friends, just make sure that u reply to the persons discussions before trying to add as afriend - that gives a better impression. Keep posting to other peoples discussions to get yur numbers up and prove that u are active.. Also, the subject is everything. Just make them good quality, no yes or no discussions, that just pisses users off. Good luck!

I have only been here for a little while so I guess things may get better as time goes on. I always mark responses (and discussions) with the plus. And I always give out the best response. It is the friends part that I am having trouble with. :) I have 7 so far. I mean, do people add friends because they like the discussions or responses, or do they add them because they are actual freinds. If it is because they like the discussions and responses, then by now I should have added quite a few. :) Thanks for your input. :)

Thanx for best response =) I add people that i think have interesting discussions for me to answer, I also accept friends that have replied to mine =) Having friends will get u more answers to your discussions. I always answer to my friends first.

THis one is a complicated one. People have some discussions that it becomes difficult to wade through all of the responses because they are so numerous. Then there are others that have been waiting several months for any sign of a response. Even then, I doubt that you get paid for someone responding to your discussion. Instead the respondent gets paid. Maybe if you go around & continue to reply to other people's discussions, you might get their attention & at least look over your discussions.

That is a good point. Pretty much I will just keep doing what I am doing. Responding to discussions, and getting myself noticed so to speak. :)

First try to make your titles very good to attract people to read content, try to make it real or have real discussions, 2nd: make more friends at mylot helps you to find easy discussion to post and let other see your discussions. Happy mylotting.

I am working on the friends aspect and trying to think of some intersting topics (although I see quite a few uninteresting-like what color do you paint your toenails with 100s of responses). :) Thanks for your input.

It is very subjective to label one's discussion as popular or not popular. Some people like certain kind of topics and others otherwise. I have posted many discussions and received responses ranging from hundred over to zero as well. This does not deter me from writing more discussions. In fact, I would still do as many posting as I have the time in order to keep my part to make mylot.com a fun place. Don't worry about getting few responses. You will be able to understand what people like soon. However, do not post discussions that are nonsensical.

Oh I know what you mean about the nonsensical. I was just reading through one and the author of the discussion, wrote the entire discussion in txt mge form & it was so hard 2 figure out what was bng sd. (I had to try and do a sentence like that but it just is too much effort) I had to concentrate to figure out what they were even asking. Then of course there are the posts with the typing checks [asl;fkjs;fkj] kinda stuff. I try to come up with good discussion topics and I never as a simple yes or no question. :) Thanks for the input.

Yeah that does make sense. So pretty much it boils down to not only do you have to post and post a good discussion or answer but you have to have a bazzilion "friends". :) I think I am getting the picture here. Guess I will have to start trying to make more "friends". :) Thanks for your input.
