Do you always click the plus on the ratings?
Do you use it when people join in your discussions or do you just use it when you really like a post?
I have been rating nearly all of the people who join in my discussions, and when I see a post I really like I rate it.
How do you choose to rate others? Do you use the rating system?

I usually give people a plus rating when they respond to my discussions - unless it's a really, really bad response but that doesn't happen often. If I see a post in someone elses discusssion that I really like I'll give it a plus rating too. I very rarely use the negative rating button but I have used it a couple of times.

I alway rate every response to my discussions and I have just plus rated you lol. I plus rate every discussion I respond to also. I have only I think once minus rated a person who was being really nasty to a lady that just lost her Husband. I like to be positive but I have reported the spammers and cheaters as I don't think they should be tolerated, not when we are typing our fingers off here lol. I love the cats by the way. I try to be as positive as I can, even if people don't agree with my opinion, I still plus rate them for bothering to read and reply to my discussion. I love debates, as long as they are civilized and without anger or malice.

i rate people all the time. i think it is nice to do so. i have only gave a neg a few times and it was when the person was so rude that people were saying that they were going to report them for abuse. you dont find that often though. most of the people here are great. i rate everyone who responds to me though. most of the time i rate everybody in a discussion that i posted to as well. i think it is just nice to do that though.

first of all, congratulations on reaching your 100th post. you now have a 9 star rating or 87/100. that's pretty good for your first star experience. :)
rating discussions is a good practice so i do it always. we have to remember that this is the same rating system that others use to rate us and the quality of our posts is reflected in our mylot reputation/ star rating.
almost everybody who responded in my discussions get positive rating as long as it's relevant to the discussion regardless if he/she disagrees to the content of the topic. whenever necessary, i add comments too.
when i really like the post, i give positive rating too.
it is very seldom that i give negative rating... only when the response is ultra rude.

thanks very much! :) It has taken a few days but I got there.
thanks to my friends ... my family ... ;)
Interesting and useful information you have given there about the rating system. I think then that it is very important to keep that in mind, and make sure that any posts are relevant and that helps to build up a better reputation.
I would probably do the same, if something was really off topic I would probably just not rate it at all, but usually I will rate any that post on my topic and good posts that I read as I go along.

I normally will take the time to rate the discussion I am responding to a plus. Sometimes I will give someone a plus if I just read what their topic was about but felt that I didn't have anything new to add.
I do rate almost everyone who responds to my discussions a plus. There have been a couple of times that I have used the negative but that was because they didn't respond to the discussion they just typed letters.

Thank you so much Felinit. I thank you because I never paid attention to rating. Yeh, I have seen those signs over there but it never occurred seriously to me to rate others.
By the way, How can one find out ones rating. Do I have a rating. I don't know. I might have to find it out.
Ok how does rating affect one on myLot. Does rating have anything to do with making money on myLot. If so how much. I think it is in the interests of all to know all about rating on MyLot and how it affects their earnings.
Thank you ones again for this topic. May be I will start rating with your this post.

You're very welcome. We all learn together it is a lot of fun. :)
I think one can find out their rating when it will come up with a star near the avatar.
I didn't notice when that happens so it might have been when I reached 100 posts.
Maybe someone else will be able to more accurately answer your question?

I rate all posts and all discussions. Mostly always with a +, unless they are off the wall with an answer or it is yes or no only. I also try very hard to reply to all my posts the best I can.

i always rate positively to every discussion i choose to reply to. Also, if anyone replies to a discussion i lauch, i will give them a pluss rating as long as their reply is more than one line long.
I tend to leave everything else alone, unless someone is breaking the site rules, then i report them to mylot.
The only time i will give a negative rating is if someone is being abusive to other users or just using the site to be vindictive
blessed be

If I like the post I will rate it to the good. If for some reason I don't think that the post has anything to do with the question or statement I rate it to the bad. But if I'm up in the air as to if I like the quote or not I don't rate it. But I rate quite a few a day. I'm trying to get my rating up I started with it low because I didn't have many discussions.

I rate the people who join in my discussion. All of them because if they have taken the time to respond than I feel they need to be rated. The only ones I don't rate are those that have given just one word answers. That is not a discussion in my book.

Most of the time I rate those people who join my discussions and the discussions that I participate in.
I try to avoid the negative rating coz I know it will also affect me directly. When I dont like the reply of th people or others comments I just leave it than rate it with a negative rating.
I rated one person once coz I was really pissed off wit his post but to my surprise mylot emailed me and informed me about rating negatively.

I would normally rate the responses with the plus sign. However, if the responses were too short or irrelevant to the topic, I would just ignore and would not rate if the responses are what I just mentioned. I have never rated negative to anybody and I do not intend to.

I give every discussion, every response and every comment I read, and those who comment and respond to my discussions a positive rating unless the comment is abusive, and belittles another person. Only then to I give negative ratings.

i dont always rate people's answers in mylot. but is usre do rate those which i have rate that i think best answered the topic of discussion, i just dont give out negative ratings, i feel that if people gave their opinion, we should take it against that person. we should, recognize those who do well though. so i just give positive no negative, i just leave it at that.

If members have taken the time to respond to my discussions and in an intelligent way, yes, I rate them all, even if the response is negative. I appreciate the time and thought that goes into the responses and people are entitled to disagree with a discussion.
The ones I don't rate are the abusive ones that call people stupid, uneducated or boring, etc. and ones that I think are not related in any way to your initial discussion. Some people don't even take the trouble to read past the headline... these will not be rated by me.
Brightest Blessings Feliniti.

I don't understand why anyone would want to give a one word answer? What would be the point? it wouldn't help the discussion and it sure isn't going to help the earnings. In that case there was a lack of effort and perhaps it is justified. Personally perhaps I would just ignore it but we all have our own ways.

I like to rate people actually, but I just received a few replies. I don't know why they don't like my topic. I have to admit that I am not a people with good ideas many times. So I choose to reply other people and try my best to give my opinion. I think that is also a way to express myself. Anyway, I like other people rate me also.
