What do you all think about the recent articles on the theory that the radiation from cell phones may be causing the death of the honeybees?
As background - about 2/3 of hives in the U.S. have been abandoned by honeybees. These disappearing hives are now beginning to occur in Europe and Britain. The theory from Jochen Kuhn is that the cell phone emissions mess up the bees' navigational capabilities, causing them to be unable to figure out how to return home...so they just die while wandering around trying to get back to the hive. His theory is based on putting cell phones by hives and finding that bees avoided the hive.
I think it's definately a very interesting theory. It is strange that so many bees are disappearing - and a bit scary. So if cell phones are the cause, I cannot even imagine what we'd do to fix the situation!!

If we want to continue eating things like almond strawberries and apple and peaches we would be willing to give up the cell phones. We got along for thousands of years without them and we could adjust again if we wanted to.
