Does it bother you if a discussion is in the wrong category?

Well I was wondering, because I have noticed that often a discussion is in the wrong category.
It is quite straightforward to pick a category to post a discussion in. This makes it easier to find them when we are searching.
Why do so many people post in the wrong category?
Do you think the MyLot staff do a good job of moving things around?
Do you get annoyed when you see a discussion topic in the wrong category, or do you just shrug and move on?
Do you think about where you are posting?
Do you think posting in the right place makes it more likely to earn more points? ... because it is more relevant to the subject topic.
Do you think there are enough subject categories? Is it possible to add more?

Hi Feliniti, so far as I know category matters a lot not only here but any where else. Think for a moment why category is important. When people browse for anything, they look for a category first. Now if I am looking for something relating to making money online, obviously, I am not going look for it under Health or Sports or Education category.
Of course, people make money through any category, but what I am interested in is how to make money online. Now selling health related products or education materials are different ways of making money. But that is the offshoot and does not directly answer my question.
Now if some topics relating to money making are listed under say Health category, what happens. First, the person who is interested in a health related topic is confronted with a topic on money making. Or conversely, if a person is interested in a money making topic but finds a health related topic. This is sure to make people feel disgusted.
The above examples are enough to put off the visitors. This way every one is loser. In our case, readers lose because they do not get the right material at the proper place. Secondly, the writer loses because he cannot get right readers owing to the wrong category. And lastly, myLot etc. will also lose because of irrelevancy.
How will one feel if instead of Las Vegas, the bus takes one to Miami. It is just like that. In short, selection of wrong categories and posting irrelevant topics under them is disadvantageous for everyone.

hi Asahibza :) a well thought out response, and I think a very good summary of why it is important.
It is so much nicer, and more efficient to be able to find what we are looking for quickly.
As an extra thought on MyLot it makes it more convenient to earn more. The reason for this is because we can post at a faster rate, and not lose time looking for the information.
That is a win win situation.

Well, it depends because some discussions are General and others are more specific ,so sometimes it might be difficult to classified them into specific categories. To be honest with you, I don't get bother with anything in life unless is something serious.

Well I must admit that in the majority of cases I do try to put my discussions in the right category but sometimes I just put it in general. No it does not annoy me when the discussion is in the wrong area. I move on I do not like to waste valuable time if I find I can respond to the discussion then I will otherwise I will delete it and find another one. No you do not earn more points in regards to this you only earn points from doing more responses. Oh yes there are heaps of categories. Oh no I would not want more than what I have already.

First things first - I will apologise for this straight away cos I am probably guilty of doing this - I can't always decide what category to submit a post under! It doesn't worry me if I see someone else has posted a discussion in the wrong category - life is like that and in the grand scheme of things it is only a little thing - as for any effect it may have on points or earnings - I am not sure! Again I am sorry to anyone I have annoyed by posting under the wrong subject! xx

Yes, there is enough room for discussions. The thing is not everyone puts them in the correct category and that definitely botters me and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I like discussions in the right catagory, but it isn't always true to happen. It doesn't bother me that much though. I always think about where I am posting and try to do it right. I guess there are enough subject categories, as they seem to be enough for what I want to post.

I get annoyed at times with it especially if I'm asked after posting to add that interest. I don't mind with some because I can at least see why they would put it there but others for example one about marriage under home improvement? Yes I've seen a bunch like that. It's as if they just pick one interest to post all their topics under and they don't worry about the others. Then it bugs me especially if I'm posting to a lot of their discussions.
You can add as many interests as you want. It's up to you to decide what to put there. I've added interests so that way I had a place to post something too. There is no reason others can't as well.

a Lot misunderstanding, because people of different culture coming on the same platform, suppose I may say joke will not be taken by the other guy in the right
sense, which sometimes cause problems
