there always seems to be a stigma about meeting a mate online. though its becoming more mainstream these days....how many have done this? My husband and I met online 6 years ago, have been married for 3 and have 2 kids. it worked out great for us! and i can't say I have ever had a bad experience with the online dating, as my husband was actually the first guy I felt comfortable enough with to meet in person.

i met a lot of people online...but in meeting most of them in person, it didn't go well. mostly i didn't quite fit what they were looking for and with some they were a different person than how they came across online. but if i wasn't currently with someone...i would probably still use that as a way to meet people because it is just a more comfortable way to meet people as i don't like clubs and bars and all that.

My mother met my stepfather online and he was a wonderful man and they were happy till he passed away from cancer. I have tried but have not been so lucky as to find someone.

My wife and I met online and everything has been great. I think with online dating the annominity helps to get things started because you feel freer to reveal yourself early on as the written nature of communicating makes you feel less exposed and it is not as hurtful if you get turned down. Also, you have to open up more online in order to take it to the next level. In addition to this you get to meet more people so you are more likely to find a person who is more compatible.
I think it is far superior to looking for someone in a bar or hoping your friends have friends who they will set you up with.
Our experience has been great. We have been married for over 3 years and have loved every minute of our reationship.
Glad to hear that your experience has been great as well.
