Hi to all.
My name is Bora, I am from Turkey. As you guess, Turkey has too many historical places.
In last years, we observe that tourism has negative effects on historical places, such as pollution, stealing original parts and something like that.
What do you think? Is tourism an industry, or a tool to have a journey on history?

Tourism is an industry. It is a way for an area to make money. The Turkey government or the locals need to implement measures to protect the historical sites. We have tourism in my city as we are near a lake. During the week of Independence Day here the streets are crowded and the police are on extra duty plus the reserve police are called in to help also. We have many histroical sites here in the United Sttes and some have had to be made off limits to protect them. Tourism is good in some ways and bad in others. Don't you agree?

You are right Tess, tourism must be considered as an industry.
Although the protective precautions has been implemented, people who has no respect to world, even himself, ruin may do something unfavourable.
It is related with being thoughtless, i think
