i think some of the best places to ask for ingagement would have to be somewhere you met,or in paris, london, france. somewhere that is romantic and that you will both rember for years to come

I don't think that the location matters. What does matter is the emotion, the environment, and the occasion. If its a special day, like the day you first met, or a birthday or something, it will make it all the more special. To top it, if you are having a candle light dinner with romantic music in the background, and you give her a special gift, it is special enough for her to remember for a lifetime. Proposing in the place where you first met, will be more powerful than proposing anywhere else in the world

I think the best place to propose is based on your lover's interests... such as if they are a nature lover, then to plan a breath taking trip to a secluded log cabin with views of snow covered trees, skiing and beautiful nature hikes would be memorable... or perhaps they love the tropics so a multiple destination cruise may be just the ticket to a resounding yes. Whether the proposal involves travel or simply breakfast in bed, it will be memorable because it comes from the heart :) All the best, Zuri http://askzuri.blogspot.com

I don't think it really matters where they ask. My husband asked me to marry him during lunch one day at a restaurant between bites of food. lol, not all that romantic but my love for him grows stronger everyday.

while i do agree on most of the response posted, i would like to suggest that from a womans point of view, it would be best to do it right in front of a big crowd. your girl will definitely feel honored and loved. =)

any meaningful place for the both of you. My husband asked me to marry him while sitting in his apartment on valentines day. It was very beautiful.

Marriage proposals can take place anywhere, but for those who are really hopelessly romantic (!), the man can choose a beautiful place, like dinner for two by the lake or sea with background music, at a fancy restaurant, etc. But for me, it does not matter where the proposal takes place as long as it is a sincere one, and that the marriage would last for a lifetime. But I guess ladies would still opt for it to be memorable and romantic, so it really depends on the two parties involved.
