Should smoking be banned?

In 10 Weeks smoking will finally be banned in public places in England, this is already the case in Wales and Scotland and in my view it has significantly improved all public places. What do you think, is a ban on smoking a good thing or a breach of your rights? Do you have a ban where you are and do you want one?

I'm a smoker so in general I'm against smoking bans. However in my state the enacted a law that establishments such as resteraunts can have a designated smoking section. These sections must be seperate rooms, with closed doors and their own seperate air conditioning/ventilation systems. Few resteraunts have opted to go that route but that one's that have are packed from open to close. And believe it or not, with the super ventilation systems they have in the smoking areas, it's really not smoky at all.

There is banned on smoking at so many places, mostly at public places! It is successful also! There are so many things which should be baned too, but for such reason no one should consider that this ban on smoking is a breach of right and should be raised as an issue of right!

this is good news for people there I'm sure, especially second hand smokers. over here they ban people from smoking inside the buildings too and people have to smoke outside. I really don't mind if people like smoking, but I mind if they smoke around me since I don't. My brother used to be a smoker and he said when people smoke, whatever it is they inhaled, can be exhaled to a certain percentage. But a second hand smoker will inhale everything that a smoker exhale so smoking is definitely more dangerous for second hand smoker although it doesn't mean first hand smoker won't suffer from it too. I don't know if this makes sense to you, but it does for me.
