I have worked in a McDonald's restaurant for over three years and it's not as bad as some people say it is. If you are a teenager it is a good place to begin your work career. The pay is not that great and the work can be stressful sometimes but, it's never boring and you can sometimes have fun.

Allways, i am afraid eating food prepaired by somebody else. I don't know if the hygiene standards of that person that prepaired my food are as high as mine. Or how should I know they didn't spit or did something else on my food?!!!!

McDonald's can definately be a fun place to work, I've worked there several times (my sisters have also worked there, and one was recently promoted to assistant manager). No, the entry level jobs don't pay that well, but they make up for it with fun and experience. And since McDonald's believes in advancement from within, there is definately opportunity for those who choose to persue it. In fact, the owner of the store I worked at started as a cook, back in the day. And one of the managers was a high school drop-out (although he did eventually get his GED so he could go to college).

Working in restaurant for over three years is a 'well-done'. As far as I know, my friends and people that I know, had never been that long to keep their job on the way. They usually went out of the job after 2 years and decided to have a new. Well done, andy

It is good to hear that somebody is proud to say they worked at McDonalds. I hope you did not have any experience of staff messing about with the food before serving. I have heard some bad tales but like especially the chips sometimes so hope it would not happen to mine. Unfortunately, too often through the drive-through we do not get all we paid for. I am sure you never did it incorrectly.

Yes, work for McDonald' is a nice job! I have some opion as followed, 1. for a young man, to work in a big company like McDonald is a good choice. Because of your youngth, your major objective is obtain more experience, and big comany is a good way. 2. to work as waiter or some jobs of service for a young man is good, because you can't be start at manager, so to contact customers directly is a great experience for your further management work. 3. I have to say 3 years is not a short time. I think it's the time for you to think over again the experience you've got and the way you're going. You have to think about the employee's career devlepment plan is suit you or not in McDonald, are you keep accepting challenge job there. I mean is there any possibility of promotion or transfer for higher position? Thant's all my opinions.Good luck!

I worked at McDonald's for about a year while I was in high school. I got promoted to swing manager two months after being hired. I made great money, close to a thousand dollars a month after taxes. It was definitely stressful at times, but I learned a lot about customer service and I got a good foundation.

I think there's just a stigma attached to being a McDonalds employee, it's not that it's a bad job, it's just not a wonderful one either. At the bank I used to work at, my manager said she'd hire people to be tellers if she saw McDonald's on their resume, just because she knew they'd be grateful for the opportunity. She was, needless to say, really surprised when one of the tellers she hired under this concept of her's quit to go back to McDonalds for a management position. :)
