A friend and I were shooting some of his guns when I nearly lost my hearing. At first we started shooting shotguns. Then we started a to shoot one of his assault rifles. He shot two rounds out of it first then he handed it to me, I shot one bullet and I just seen the muzzle flas. I didn't hear the shot or anything. I then turned aroung and said " can you hear anything?" he then said something and all that happened was I seen his lips move. I thought to myself "Oh god I'm deaf!" I went to the doctor the next day and he told me my hearing would eventually come back. It has been 6 months since then and my left ear is still sort of messed up. So the moral of the story is if you are gonna shoot please wear ear protection.

Hearing protection is enexpensive and very important to use during noise exposure. Sounds like you had a temporary hearing loss; however, you should have your hearing evaluated by an audiologist if you feel like your hearing isnt back to normal.
