What gap are we trying to break down with technology?

Sojourner - The name Sojourner was chosen for the Mars Pathfinder in a worldwide competition where students were invited to select a heroine and submit an essay about how a planetary rover would translate these accomplishments to the Martian environment.

Valerie Ambroise, 12, of Bridgeport, CT, submitted the winning essay about Sojourner Truth, an African-American reformist who lived during the Civil War era. An abolitionist and champion of women's rights, Sojourner Truth, whose legal name was Isabella Van Wagener, made it her mission to "travel up and down the land," advocating the rights of all people to be free and the rights of women to participate fully in society. The name Sojourner was selected because it means "traveler." JPL scientists and engineers working on the Mars Pathfinder project and Planetary Society staff members reviewed the 3,500 total entries received from all over the world, including essays from students living in Canada, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Poland and Russia. Nearly 1,700 of the essays were submitted by students aged 5 to 18 years old.

As technology improves in all aspects of word what are we getting better at? Building stuff, sending stuff, reading stuff i don't know. Which necessity are we perusing? -Immediacy, Accommodation, curiosity? Do you think that one day technology will close a gap? Or is it just constant evolution? Or does it close gaps throughout each constant evolution? Its getting a bit dicey for me here. WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY?

The evolution fo technology tries to break the gap between time and innocence. Technology relieves us from the old hard conventional way of living. Technology, as long as it's not misused and abused isa advantageous to humankind. new technology like weapons of mass destruction is not good technology at all.

Do you think we will ever be done making technology?

Well, technology is mens response to new chalenges. we have to eat - we invented weapons to kill animals. We found fire - we developed means to cook food. we were cold, had to warm up - we managed to build buildings, well huts at first :) At some point we were aware of the sky and found means to reaserch it. And SO ON ....so Basicly technology appears in my opinion from NEED AND CURIOSITY. and I couldn't say if technology will come to a halt ...beacose there are many things to be discovered ...

technology is very broad. I agree with what your saying about how need requires tools of some sort or competition fashions tools or whatever but these days specifically in terms of communication is there a noticeable gap being closed between people such its more limited than say all the other things to be discovered. I see technology as the momentum of evolution like a footprint of consciousness but what are the reasonable limits to our technology? Do you believe teleportation is possible? In that over the years we've wanted more immediate contact from pigeon carriers to Boeing 747s is that logical? rather what is looking forward.
