No I can't think of a pleasant Hell, but what I can say is I think you don't necessarily have to die to be in hell. You can live a life so full of misery, and drudgery here on earth that it becomes your own private Hell.

If the idea of Hell would make people afraid of doing evil things in order to avoid going there, then it's better to believe that there is indeed Hell. Nobody knows for sure. I couldn't even visualize it. Burning pits? Perhaps. What's important is that it's a matter of believing, or what we would call faith. I do believe that there's such a thing as Hell and even a Heaven. That's what my faith dictates. Of course we are all different in what we believe in. For me, it's also a good way in order to keep me from temptations and evil ways. Happy myLotting!

I believe in hell because it was taught by our Lord Jesus Christ that it is a place of "weeping and gnashing of teeth". It is a place of eternal sorrow, torture, agony and hopelessness-- being shut off from the presence of God. Hell is a place of evil, darkness, fires and regrets. It is the very wrath of God that was intended for Satan and his demons. But people will be there too if they rebel against God through their disobedience and not believing in Him (or discrediting His goodness and dishonoring His name and mighty deeds). One would be saved from hell if he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Mmm.. the eternal war between good and evil that ends with the savior going to heaven and the bad guy going to hell.. Im not sure wether or not I believe in the place itself as it has been described or painted for centuries, red, hot and fiery.. I do believe that there are certain situations in life that can sure feel like being trapped in some sort of devilish place. Demons & Satan.. I dont think you can really believe in God and Angels and Saints without believing in the existence of the bad guys.. considering there has to be a balance in the world , things have to be equal... So if your faith, or your religion or believes tell you that there is a heaven, a holy place where you can be safe and live for eternity if you have been good.. why doubt the existence of a place that is supposed to punish the sinners... In the end, I think is a matter of perspective and each individual's point of view.

hell is a place were all the sinners will be put together and burnt alive, there sinners will be a great pain, and those sinners will not be given any chance to come out of it, and they would have losed all those chances while staying on the earth, as god gives time to every body, to come out of darkness to light, but it depents on his inner side that wether he or she will come out of darkness or not

Hell, to me, is the complete separation from God and life. While you are alive, God is always there to help you and protect you from evil if you need him to be. Or, at least he can help you get through the evil. When you die, and if you go to hell, you no longer have God's help or protection, nor will your soul be nourished. Your soul slowly disintegrates while demons torture you all they want and there's nothing that can be done about it. I don't think it's forever, though, but it can seem that way because it exists outside time. But, you finally die and no longer exist. So, that's what I think. You avoid it by knowing God and one way to see exactly who God is, is to know Jesus Christ. When you die, recognizing God will be the most important thing you can do and if you don't know Him, you won't recognize Him. The devil can appear very much like what many people think is God and trick you.

I don't believe in hell at all and think it is a man made invention to keep society on the straight and narrow.

I have experienced hell-like on this earth. Why contemplate another Hell harsher than the one we have here.?

HELL!! For me hell is not tht hell as ppl would think! I feel hell could also be a beautiful place, cos nobody has ever seen it..but goin by the instincts, if ever i get an oppertunity to select hell or heaven, i would select hell and make it heaven!! after all, the difference lies in our thoughts and not the place !!

Hell!!! It exists on earth. Yes I do think in hell. I also do believe in it. The actual definition of hell goes to sorrow in human life. Imagine the situation, a person suffers from cancer / AIDS. Just feel his life. Just feel deeply. You will find hell. We can't escape from it's grip. If you throw a stone over someone, then be ready for a boulder. So, we should not do such things that harm or hurt to somebody, otherwise we have to go hell, mostly we suffer in our old age. Hell, yes it resides on the earth, not any where.

Would that then mean the person suffering with cancer or HIV is being punished for something?

as far as i know earth is the only place where the suffering is endless. Not bad enough? I don't believe in a concept of heaven and hell as far as you go to one or the other when you die. I'm not ruling out afterlife but i don't think its two distinct regions. If you consider the birth of an idea to be a legitimate birth are some ideas in heaven or hell too? that is if you believe in heaven and hell

Hell is nothing but an invention used by the rulers and the church to keep the masses calm and obedient so they could stay in power. Most of us westerners are traumatised by it, we tell it to children and that fear follows us for the rest of our lives. I think that's cruel and it's a form of psychologically damaging children. I wish I was born in a culture where the notion of Hell didn't exist.

im not sure i believe in hell as a punishment in the afterlife, rather I feel it is what we create here on earth. Hell is simply what we make of our life when we sucumb to things like lust, greed, anger and hatred. blessed be

Hell never be pleasant.. Hell is the hatest place for every individual exsistance. Actually, we are comited to our creator but it is hidden down thousand of activities. We have two way to walk that is true or false. No doubt true is for success holder & false is for hell liver. In on our daily life activities we should measure rvery moment on the judge of true false & I think that is clear to everybody of us & we should try to keep continuee walk on ture way & that is only for reliefe. that is the only way for success.

I'm Pagan and I do not believe in hell in the way Christians present it. Fire, brimstone, some red guy poking you with a pitch fork; none of that seems real believable to me. Wouldn't Satan have better things to do? And if your soul is seperate from your body, how are you going to feel pain? I do however believe we will be held accountable in some sense after our lives are over. That we will know what harm we have done to others, and need to in some way balance or atone for those actions. I also believe that whatever being is in charge, knows our hearts and knows if we did the best we could. Believing in karma and reincarnation fits these other beliefs for me. Perhaps we have to do over the things we did wrong. Perhaps we have to experience what it felt like to be on the other side of our actions. Perhaps we are stopped from advancing in our soul's journey until we fix these things. As to how to avoid it, again for me it comes back to doing what you believe to be right. Making the best choices with the information you have. I can't believe that an all knowing, loving God/Goddess holds you accountable for things you couldn't possibly know was wrong. But that if you act in a way you know to be harmful to others, you should expect to be held responsible for that.

I think that my opinion off hell is that its different for everyone, because everyone fears something more than another. For instance I fear being alone, and not being able to provide for my family. Therefore my opinion hell would be a place where I was alone and had no family, it would be different for someone else that did not fear such things.

Very interesting answer! So it is something personal... it's like it actually blongs to us, isn't it? I mean, we create our own heaven with our fears, that actually are perhaps related to our actions and esperiences...
