How long did you date before getting engaged

Well we've been dating for 2 years and not engagged yet.

5 months 7 months 1 week woo hoo

About a year and a half...but he left for the service shortly after we met so our "dating" was mostly letters and phone calls. We figured out once that in the 3 years we dated (including engagement), we actually saw each other for a grand total of 3 months! But, we have now been married for 34 years. :)
