Yes your right, it should have never happened. I was walking down the street where he lived when it happened, by the time I reached his building he had already been rushed to the emergency room. After the news hit the tv and radio the street in front of his building was full of thousands of people, everyone crying and screaming. The people stood there all night and never went home. They brought flowers and candles and placed it in front of the building. Across the street is the famous "Central Park" and that too was full of people and then everyone started singing all of his songs. You could hear it from far away. It was a very sad thing to see. I hope his shooter Mark David Chapman never gets out of prison for what he did.

No one deserves to die the way he did, but you are right, his songs could have helped a lot of people.
