What do you think of the idea of codes for MyLot?

What if for every discussion that only wants serious replies, we put an * at the start of the subject line, so that way the people who post for money and might ramble on a bit can stay away? And on posts without the *, we'll be open to whatever replies we happen to get? Perhaps we could also have a & to outlaw netspeak or something like that, or maybe a # to say don't respond with less than four lines?

You've got a really innovative idea there, but if it's implemented, it'll probably be difficult for all the members to remember all of the codes. If it was marked in such ways that the members did not need to remember it, and had some kind of a notification or something displaying beside it pointing out the details, then it'd be great! :)

I thinks it's a great idea, but not sure how you could enforce it? Sometimes I think that would attract more "bad" than good? Unless it affects their rating and such. I think that EBAY does it well. When the rating reflects negatively I never buy or sell to them. So I think that once your rating drops below a certain point then you are not allowed to reply to any discussions higher than your own rating! At least that way all the losers are in one spot LOL. It goes back to Quality not Quantity,.... Good ideas!

That sounds like too many things to remember to me. I just choose discussions as i like them. I wouldnt even look at any codes. So to me they wouldnt work. If you can make it work. Good luck to you :)
