Well, I don't have a much amount in my Bank Account due to the fact that I am salaried person and whatever I receive on the salary day, I draw most of it in order to meet my livings. But I would admit that I check my account after a month or couple of months in order to reconcile my rough calculations for deductions made by the employer or sometimes by the Bank. I feel good and think it is not a mistrust rather just a reconciliation! Frankly, I do not keep any record with me due to the fact that its very much tense work of accounts ;) lol How about you people? Do you have a Bank Account? How do you do with your Bank for your queries? Your experience is awaited!! Thanking you for your responses in advance.

I do keep all records of what happens in my chrcking account. Before I switched banks my old bank had some how lost a couple of deposits that I had made. I would deposit my paycheck on Friday or Saturday got to withdraw cash and the bank tell me that I didn't have that amount in my account. I not only keep records of my activity but I get a statement every Friday from my bank to watch my bank account activities as well.

What did you do then? How the reconciliation made? It would surely be a human error due to neglegence. You are doing good but don't you think that it is time consuming whilst we are confident enough upon the integrity of Bank! Thanks for your experience enabling me to learn how to keep track of my account.

Like you i used to draw most of my credited salary everymonth and hence i dont have the need to keep a track of the available balance. But i will know how much is available after withdrawal so that i can draw some money i times of need.I promptly receive my monthly bank statement which i will go through to check whether any interest has been dedcuted by bank for services. There is a customer service toll free number available so that i can contact to verify any information regarding my savings account.
I dont think that its a mistrust to bank as we keep our records because its always good to know our account balance everytime after any withdrawal or deposit. In this case we dont have to depend on our banks customer service everytime.

I deal with my Bank account through internet, it is known as net banking. Everyday I access my Bank account and make sure that the balance are in order. I can even transfer funds, request for cheque book, obtain statement of accounts through Net Banking.

Well, so nice to see you keep an eye to monitor your account through the net facility. Yes, I agree that net banking is a great facility and I also have the same but sometimes its even good to visit the Bank ;) How do you believe that? Thanks for response too.

I don't keep a long-term record, but I always have information on what I currently have out on my computer. I'll just make a little note when I set up an online payment or use my debit card or write a check, so that when I look at my balance using online banking, I'll know to subtract that amount from it. I check my balance and recent transactions via online banking every single day, even days I don't work.
I work at a bank, and every day I see people who keep no records at all who have overdrawn their accounts and have no idea why. The first few times I feel sorry for them and want to help, but after a while I just get annoyed because they could easily solve the problem by keeping even a simple note like mine. It gets very frustrating to watch people setting themselves up for financial failure like that.

My salary is also paid into the bank and I check my bank account every week to make sure that my utility bills are paid on time. I use online banking and I usually print out a statement each time I log on. I don't keep a detailed record of every transaction as I have a good idea of the amounts which should be in my bank account. If I noticed anything unusual then I would contact my bank but this has never happened.

i don't have a separate record. but i do keep my last transactions...the slips i get from ATM cards to see if some deductions were done or not. or if my money gained interest or not. but separate records, i don't keep.
there are times when banks have some glitches with our accounts. that sometimes, something gets wrong. and so, better to check it from time to time. keep those little transaction papers you get from teller machines.

When I wrote checks I always balanced my checkbook down to the last penny. Now I do all my banking online but I check it every morning before I even think of myLot.

I dont keep a separate record, but i use to keep the latest Mini statements in order know the balance in my account. I also use to file all the bank statements which the bank mails me. I am also a salaried person and i also use to draw most of my salary at the beginning of the month. It is possible for the banks to make errors. If we have records of our account, we can escalate it to the bank.

yup. those very small papers for our transactions are very important. and true. banks also commit errors. so, it's better to have proofs if we find errors after sometime.

I have separate bank accounts for my personal and household expenses. And I balance the accounts each month when I receive my bank statements. But I have a lot of trust in my bank. I've been their customer for nearly 25 years and they have not made a mistake in all that time. While I, on the other hand, often make mistakes in my accounting.
I figure they are better at what they do than I am, so I usually go with the balance they have in their statement and make corrections in my bookkeeping.

I keep track of my bank account online. I can access it anytime of the day and can pay bills, transfer funds and other things like that too. If there are any discrepancies then I contact the bank immediately - they are very helpful when it comes to customer service.
