What kind of crafts do you enjoy?

Despite a severe vision loss I still enjoy cross stitching, knitting and crocheting. I was taught by my gran many years ago when I was just five years old! I have tried to teach my nieces to knit, but they just aren't interested. Hand crafts just seem to be a dying art. Now with a niece expecting a baby, I've made quite a few outfits. I am also working on a lovely tiger xstitch pic for hubby.
What sorts of things do you like to work on? How many projects do you usually have on the go at any one time?

Good for you hookfan - I really admire you! Sometimes I wish I was f
good at this type of thing but unfortunately nothing turns out right for me! My time is taken up with the kids , computer, books , puzzles and voluntary work with the school! Not working much at the moment but after I have my surgery and recover I will have work to add into the equation - no time left over for much else! xx

I used to really enjoy cross stitch, but lately its beads, beads &, yep, more beads. I've also crocheted, but nothing seems to take beading's place. And the fact that people sometimes buy my beading doesn't hurt any either.

I used to sew knit and crochet , I actually taught my 2 eldest boys to knit but they wont admit to it now lol , I have tried to teach my granddaughters but they didn't keep it up , I used to make some of Ross trousers when he was little and I also used to make all my curtains etc . have carpal tunnel syndrome now and its not easy to do , I think its a dying art now to make things by yourself people would rather go buy them than bother , I think this is a real shame , Take care pal and have a nice day it is glorious here in Stirling today xx

My hubby learned to tat when he was 5 yo - his sisters taught him :) He also learned to knit and sew so that he would be able to look after himself his mum told me :) He can repair anything quite easily and he said it was a great help when he was in the Army, as he could fix all anything :)
It's gorgeous here in the South East too! You have a great day too pal! xx

I ve done a lot of these things like stitching clothes cross stitch with scenes from related books then getting them framed to decorate the house . also makrame its with thick strings and beads . I made toys out of beads n fibre. As I had been a primary teacher I had an oppurtunity to do lots of craft work to teach n to display.I ve received a lot of appreciation for my work. i ve never sold anything . there r many other such interests related to this field which i have beeen doing. Now I ve weak eyesight so cant do much but I enjoy doing it.It is relieving to sit with a hook or needle n scissors after u get bored of other home chores.

I have wanted to do scrapbooking for years now so recently i have begun to start my collection of supplies. It is expensive but will be well worth it when I have beautiful books to give my daughter of her life memories. I haven't done one yet but i think once I get started I won't be on here anymore cause I'll get right into it.

My sister went to Hawaii a couple of years ago. She wanted to make a scrapbook of her trip, so for Christmas I took her to the craft store & helped her get what she needed to get started. She spent her entire spare time working on her scrapbook. Now she's a junkie! Inspite of the fact that my sister is the "recreation" person in the family, even majored in it in college, she's never had a "crafty" hobby. I'm glad I helped get her started.

I don't do any of the crafts that you've talked about.
But, I recently have taken up stamping which I am really enjoying :)
I've made cards, gift boxes, gift card holders, bookmarks and a variety of other things.
I like stamping because you can finish a project in a short amount of time and have something nice to show for it :)

I do craft projects with my daycare children everyday. But those are kiddie crafts. As for myself, I don't really do crafts very much anymore. Years ago I did crafts all the time. I use to do counted cross stitching, that was my favorite. I also made things using plastic canvas and yarn. I made things like tissue box covers and magnets.

I enjoy crocheting, scrapbooking and stamping homemade cards.
I have a scrapbook for my son, one for my daughter, one for me and my husband and I just finished one for my sister as a baby gift for her new soon to be bundle of joy that is due in August.
For Christmas I stamped 12 notecards for each of my children's teachers, which came to a total of 48 cards. All the teachers said that they liked them. And they were so fun to make.
On my crochet I made a red and white blanket(the size of a twin bed) for one of my good friends from Japan. I did red and white because it is our college's colors and she is a student there. And now I am making another one for my husband and am making it purple, black and white for KSU colors.
Your niece is going to love the handmade baby outfits. She will know that they were made with love. And they will be very special to her.

May I resurrect this discussion and add my bit. I have only just found it.
Now that I am on the computer I do not have time for crafts as well (barely time for housework!). I used to knit and my husband still wears a cardigan I knitted for him when it is cold. I tried to teach my daughter but she didn't get the hang of it very well.
I have done so many cross stitch pictures that I have filled not only my house but my mum's and my sister's. I did a couple of those jigsaws where lots of little pictures make up one huge picture - they were so difficult I glued them and framed then when they were finished - world map and Winnie the Pooh.
I could never get the hang of crochet but have written a few poems and like to draw the view frm our hotel window when on holiday.

I like to draw and paint, its very stress releaving. i really like letting my feelings go out of me down a pencil and onto a paper. its nice to have that around whenever you are feeling like you aren't cared about or like you are stressed so much you could blow.

I crochet, cross-stitch, sew, and make collaged artwork.
I think there has been something of a revival in hand crafts, at least crochet and knitting, among many young women. There are a lot of young women who want to make their own crocheted and knitted items, just not in the traditional colors and patterns of those crafts.
I normally have at least a couple of projects going all the time, though I do most of my crafting on the weekends, when my roommates are either asleep or at work.

I enjoy xstitch before, during my spare time i do it, i had made "last supper" which was displayed in our kitchen by my mom. I also did "lucky fishes" which until now not yet finished hahaha due to lack of time. Then "disney clock" finished but not yet framed. I was overwhelmed with my work.
I leave xstitch, and switch to knitting, hand knitting coz i found it interesting. But, only after i made a hat, i gave up due to lack of materials.
Maybe i'll go back with my xstitch so i could finish my "lucky fish", and the pillow case plus the small xstitch bags

It's been for years, I make packaging, souvenirs like with country designs. I love accesory making. My projects depend on the availability of my time and some are orders form friends and customers.I sometimes make molds out of silicon and paint it with gold like angels.Handcrafts are in, in our country nowadays. Everywhere, people make it out of hobby and livelihood as well.
