Joint Venture... what is it?

Hi there! My friend told me that about Joint Venture, but i don't really understand. Did anyone of you know what joint venture means? Thanks!

I think joint venture is a partnership in business,but it is mostly used when two or more countries participate in a business undertakings.

Joint venture can mean partnership.
