When did you first learn HTML and CSS? And how did you learn? Can you give any effective online tutorial sites?
I learned through experience. :) I had my first blog and it was a mess. I was totally clueless about HTML, and i just copy-pasted codes onto my site, leaving it bombarded with graphics, etc. A year after, I had another blog with a different free host, and I experimented with the coding. I just tweaked some stuff, and eventually I got used to it. I studied further about it through some online tutorial sites, and now i'm better at it! I'm currently studying php, but I still can't get it. Haha.
Anyway, for those who want to learn effective CSS, i highly suggest www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp ;) :)
Happy web developing! :)

I started learning HTML and CSS when I inspired to make a fansite/website for F4 and ASOS (it's a taiwanese boy and duet band). I think it's 2001 or 2002. I used MS Frontpage on making them until i check and learn what is the use of these one, that one, etc etc... until i got it already. My graphics skills that time is not that pretty, a lot of changes of my graphics skills were improved and i'm so happy!
I'm using Adobe Photoshop. About css thing, if you know the element properties already, then it's just easy to edit the stylesheet.

I can say that I am now starting the "hardcoding". I can say that i know some asp .net (a language like PHP). I also know HTML CSS and Javascript, but i have almost no artistic feeling. I'm now developing a web site that will contain a mini asp .net tutorial in my native language, and i also have other projects. After I will make a portofolio maybe i will start to work as a freelancer ...

Well, I started when I was 16. I just wanted to know how to make web pages... then I got into graphic designing and then I wanted to actually put layouts into use. So I learned HTML and enough CSS to make a cute little website. I was always horrible with putting content on the pages though. I just wanted to make the layouts and whatnot. Anyways, I learned through www.w3schools.com and yes it is a very good source.

Well, I started hardcoding when I was still 9. I was taught by my cousin of my age and now I'm better than him. Everything was just a product of perseverance and determination. I then studied CSS then PHP. Now, I consider myself as a PHP addict and has a blog about it. I also have my own website not a domain (currently in its development stage) at cmegozalo.my-place.us. I enjoy it a lot and I'm now adapting to xHTML and making myself used to it.
