Do your responses to my discussions increase the number next to my name?

I am reaching close to 200 next to my name.
I am just wondering whether the post number next to our name increases with every response we receive to our discussions? Sometimes i am not responding to discussions and the number increases by one or two. Perhaps it only increases by one once someone starts responding to my discussion but then when i get more responses it won't increase anymore?

hi! the number of our posts increases when we do the following:
- start a discussion and get at least one response. (starting discussions with no responses do not increase our posts)
- responding to a discussion started by others
- adding our first comment to a response made by another in someone else's discussion (any subcomment under that same response won't increase our posts)
technically speaking, adding comments to the responses we receive in discussions we started won't increase the number of our posts, but it would be encouraging for other mylot users to participate more in our discussion. :)
the increase in the number of responses in our discussions doesn't increase our number of posts. :)

no. it won't.
if your discussion receives 100 responses and you add comments to each response... that is still 1 post.
if you responded to a discussion by another mylot user... that is 1 point. if you add a comment under your response... no additional point.
---- but if you add a comment in someone else's response in the same discussion, you get another point.

if you are the one who started the discussion, no matter how many response you receive or comments you make, that is equivalent to only 1 post. :)

theoretically at least, every response you make will increase your number. Every once in a while mylot delete discussions and your numbers drop. Very rarely, the number doesnt rise because of a glitch, but catches up later

not directly. The first one you get does and as far as i know the 20th one does too

We only get a point ponce whenever receiving a first response on our post, and it is only counted when you try to make a comment on it.
You're observation is correct, and it is more better if you try to respond to other posts to. By that, you'll get an increase in your points, reputations, ratings and also earnings.
But make sure that you read and make comments to most of them, rating them too will be a big help.
