Does anyone else cringe when they hear english naruto speak rather than japanese naruto speak? the chick doing his voice, every english voice actor actually screwed up all their voices and pronounciations. They could have done better.

I never hear naruto in English version I think not all English actor bad. I dont know if it in Naruto. BUt U can see how Brian Drumond did his jobs well when dubs vegeta. I can said he is better a litlle bit from Horikawa Ryo. But yeah.. mostly English dubber looks screw up in promontation and dont have good emotion. Hope they will fix it. But me? I enjoy to hear my native dubbing (Indoensian) lol I'm dubbing pro. BUt I also like to hear seiyuu ^^

oh..people need to really stop complaining about those things. i think Naruto's english voice is fine, actually, most of the main chatacters are good. they shouldn't try to pick the voices that match the japanese actors, more of a voice that matches the character itself. i'm sure the only reason you don't like it is because you're used to the japanese voices. and the same would be for someone who loves the show and has never heard the japanese voices, if they watch it...they'll think it sound weird to them. so people need to stop compaining about it...i mean...sure...you can complain about SOME of the voices on One Piece, but naruto voice actors are pretty well done. Viz Media does a great job in casting.. NOW the correct pronnounciations of the Japanese words....well, thats another story all together...americans have a problem with pronouncing anything correctly especially if it comes from another country...i grew up in hawaii and was surrounded by japanese, hawaiian, fillipino....etc and most of these people spoke their language so we were always taught to pronouce the word how it is pronouced in the original language...i cringe when i hear someone say the word karaoke wrong...DAMN...its just how were're taught to read different words in english...most languages, its straight forward. it sounds the same as how it looks. english has a lot of little rules which we try to place on words that originate from other countries which have their own accents and everything. that is truly a language thing and i would be VERY impressed if they brought it people to help the actors with their pronouciation..or if the characters learned it on their own...but that does take a lot more work....time and money...

I actually don't buy the "used to hearing the japanese va" argument, there's several shows I heard the english to first and then watched in original and found it to be much better. that's a different topic though :p I will agree that they shouldn't try to match the english to the japanese va. Trying to find someone who suits the character is the most important.

well i say that because the only anime i watched ONLY in English was Inuyasha, when when i watched one of the movies in Japanese...i was taken back a bit and did prefer the english voices over the japanese. its now which one you see first, but what you're used to. watching an anime for a long time having the same voices in your head...and then hearing something different to what you're used to might make you not like it. this isn't always true for everyone, but i feel thats the case in most. yeah i know with anime like One Piece, they do screw up the voices quite a bit...but i really do think the Naruto english and japanese care close...and it sounds more believable that he's a 12 yr old kid.

That's the main reason a lot of people prefer to watch it subbed. There's a good deal of english voice actors that suck so horridly that even the good one's don't justify watching it like that. But it's not so much their fault, in Japan they offer classes on voice acting. There isn't an institute like that here in North America that I know of anyway. The results of this is usually clearly heard. This isn't to say there aren't any annoying japanese voice actors, because there are.

i never heard naruto's english version. well, in the japanese version even though the voice actor of naruto is a girl, she did a great job. I learned she is a singer. It's funny when i heard her sung the opening song of one of the movies of naruto. hahahaha
