marketing our self for our career

i think there is two main strategies in the business world. there is differentiation, cost leadership. differentiation is mean become unique in the good things, cost leadership is mean low cost.
i think that it's same with our career. we can use differentiation strategy in our life, we can become unique according to our customer need, our customer in this term is our boss, or owner etc. if we can become unique and it's good unique. so our boss will look us different and our career will grow up so fast.
second strategy is cost leadership. if you are standard people and no special, so we can try to work more than we pay, we must loyal to our boss. work more than the comonly work time. and if your boss look to you that you are loyal even you are standard. your boss will consider about your career.
if you know about blue ocean strategy, there is strategy that combine two strategy, it's much better to combine it. we are uniqe in the boss view, and we are loyal, or we do more than we pay. so no reason for our boss to let's us stuck in the middle.and your career will grow up.
