I was a mechanic for many years. It is a well known trick with alot of the older generation of mechanics to use coke to break lose frozen up, or rusted motors. I once brought a classic honda motorcycle with a frozen engine. I got a fantasic deal on it because it was frozen (by this I mean the pistons were rusted to the engine cylinders). I remove the spark plugs and filled the holes with coke. I waited one week and then filled the holes with fuel oil and then kicked it over it was nice and free. I rode the bike for six years. I have also heard if you put a nail in a cup of coke for a week it will start to eat away the nail.
